#46 Lachlan Blakiston

I’m seriously on the fence, I don’t know what to make of him. Sometime he looks great and others it’s pretty bad. I think a lot of it comes down to what happens with our ruckman.

I still think Bryan is waiting to see what Draper does before he commits. If Draper does I can see him off to another club. If we keep both Bryan’s and Draper, Blackiston is a good break glass backup. If we loose one I think I’d rather a season AFL backup.

Lots of things to happen before I would be committing to him in any way.

Kingy is on board. ALL HAIL THE DIVINE PONYTAIL!

He’s doing ok.
But you do realise your post has nothing to do with mine that you replied to yeh?

Absolutely he can get better and suspect he will.

About time we bought some more long haired gentlemen back into the club

Beleieve it is important that he plays the last three games in the ruck, to see how viable this is moving forward.

Got to be $1.01 to get #17 if Goldy retires. Massive Judd Lalich vibes!

Rosa has done well with the mid season crop. This bloke can play.

If only he was 24. He’d be a terrific prospect.

You do realise that chewbacca is a wookie yeh?
wtf is he doing living on endor with a bunch of ewoks?

You don’t think the fact he’s playing an unfamiliar role for an unfamiliar team has any relation to your perception of a lack of footy IQ?

Ok… I guess

When I’m talking fundamentals that u12s know and understand. Fundamentals that apply to all teams, and players across the ground. So yep, your point is moot.

He’ll play more ruck minutes next week

Moves pretty well.

I’m not sure his kicking is that bad, it just looks insanely awkward. It seems to find the target in most cases.

He has that quality of appearing to float through the air, like Rids does. But he is over 2M.

Pretty unique prospect but still no idea what to make of him.

we’ve gotta plan for these scenarios

Yeah he would probably struggle to get a game if heaven forbid we have a full squad to choose from. But having a tall, athletic player who can play ruck and also key back at a pinch isn’t the worst thing to have on the list as an insurance policy. He does have scope for improvement down back IMO.

Can’t believe some people are questioning whether a guy that’s never been in a profession program (yeah yeah I get that’s questionable at Essington) has any scope for improvement.
You could literally throw anyone on this board onto an AFL list and their football would improve immensely.
The only questions over Blakiston are (1) what the scope of that improvement is and (2) whether his age profile fits in with where we are as a club/list atm.
(1) Is unknown and comes down to our development team (RIP)
(2) I refer you to Lachlan Keeffe
