#46 - Lachlan Blakiston

Actually wonder with May going down whether jones would come in and play as a third tall forward (if McKay stays down there) this week.

There certainly was once a time when Harry was really promising but that had well
And truly passed by the time we have him another two years.

With Hayes out for another 12 months, Blaki is going to Bradbury his way to 50 games.

Jones is exhibit A of the combination of questionable AFL lifestyle, recurring injuries and poor development.

When he arrived he was a talented prospect.

Lets get him to Father-Son level

At this rate, he could end up our next coach.

He ain’t it.

Cannot afford to play this bloke anymore, he’s just absolutely putrid. Has no awareness and just gives away free kick after free kick

He’s no good

Haha I haven’t minded him tonight. But I’ve also punched a bottle of red and a few beers so.

It’s actually embarrassing for the bloke now. He tries but he isn’t up to it.

What’s more embarrassing is the fact we signed up to the end of 2028 based on his pre season. Ridiculous desicion at the time and only looks worse today

Never change Essendon. Never change.

How can we recruit a guy who’s 2m tall who clearly can’t judge the flight of the ball. Which means he can’t mark it. And when he does get into a position to to he drops it. He has classic hard hands.

And worst still..and this is the worst part, we give 2 years. Not 1. Based on his training performances amongst ourselves. Like who is going to offer this guy 2 years outside of us? So why do it..and the timing of it..

You would lose your job over decisions like that.

He’s awful.

I’ve tried to reason and think of the genuine reasons why he is playing at the top level and (horrifyingly) offered a contract extension … but I just can’t.

For every one decent possession or decision he makes per game, there’s like ten ā€˜shake your head’ moments.

It’s just not going to work. Thanks for coming but… bye bye.

Relax.

He’s a depth player and since we’re suffering so many injuries to talls, he is playing.

He gives us coverage in the Ruck and KP defender stocks, so the signing on clearly small chips wasn’t disastrous.

He does some good things and has a crack.

Obviously, he make a tonne of errors including too many frees against.

It is what it is.

When better players are available, he plays VFL.

assuming be draft HVH we then have Bryon, Visintini, Gerryn and Wright who can ruck as well next year and in defence Hayes will be back and likely we draft another key as well. He’s probably playing VFL all next year then getting delisted unless he irons out a few things. Let’s see what he can do with some more time.

Two more years…

It’s almost at a ā€˜cut our losses’ time.

His contract couldn’t be that significant, surely.

He isn’t a good defender

His best chance is as a 2nd ruck who can be good enough at another position when he isnt rucking. Problem is, i dont know what that position is. He isnt a good defender or a forward, or a mid.
