Forward that kicks goals, delist and watch him flourish at another club.
Tonight’s game was like his standard vfl ones by finally adding in his ground level goals too. Great to see it finally translate I thought it would given the opportunity.

The ol’ reverse Paddy Voss
Goal kicking is the most underrated skill
Been a fan since day 1.
3 or 4 yr contract
And that’s 50 to 60 goals a year.Ive got good vibes about this guy.
knows where they are
I’m torn, he is clearly doing well so far and credit to him. Aside from goal kicking I just don’t see too many weapons. He has a knack for finding goals but I just feel that at an AFL level that will be found out very quickly. Teams will know his leading patterns, how he moves quick enough. I just don’t see the characteristics outside of those mentioned that will hold him up long term at AFL level. No stand out speed, strength, agility at this level.
fingers crossed I’m wrong but I just feel that his impact will be limited once teams put work into him. Credit to him though, amazing start in a new environment
He is the dangerous little goal sneak we have been looking for
Bloke gets a bit of criticism here. To me he pops up in dangerous positions, is a goal sneak and an decent finisher. Also a bit of an awkward match up.
I like him.
Smart forwards who know where to be always tend to get some looks. But I do share your reservations.
It will create an imbalance for next year’s list, but he has definitely deserved a 1 year deal to at least duke it out with May and Edwards for a further extension. Cannot give him longer than that in the context of those other contracts and Jones/Cox, etc. For now.
Could he win the goal kicking for 3 teams?
He’s not in the lead at Carlton VFL anymore
Looked as if he started to feel like he belonged in the second half, went way harder (than previous weeks)at the ball and contest, hopefully that’s now his new standard
Hope it’s not going to be another Mass situation where we offer him 1 and someone else trumps our offer with two years.
Who was the bright spark that gave Jones a two year contract?
Sure it’s been said before, but Liam plays in the Gunston mould.
Been big on Liam since he missed out on a spot at the blues early this year.
I am abit biased though because I absolutely love northern suburbs players
I agree with the Gunstan reference.
I also think Gunstan is the cautionary tale we need to heed whe considering McMahon’s contract status. Gunstan could have been an EFC player due to his family connections if we had of valued his game enough. But I reckon we did the whole “ he’s not a KP and he’s not a small….” thing. Cue the Hawks and the rest is history.
Is that any different to Langford without the contract
Seems like a genuinely nice kid
I’ve been and still am a bit sceptical that he will have a long AFL career, but you have to give him a year. To kick 2 goals per game in a team barely getting to 50 each week can’t be ignored.
What does this mean? I don’t think one of Edwards or Jones can be on the list next year notwithstanding their contracts.
