I’m yet to work him out. I see an average looking player that seems to be a certainty to kick two goals or more every week! Amazing.
Considering no-one else in the club has averaged more than about 1.2 goals a week.
Came to Essendon like an alchemist.
Turns ■■■■ I50s in to goals.
I could see some other club offering him a bit more than Essendon would be willing to. So I suspect he’s still on an AFL list next year, be it here or elsewhere.
It’s like peak Ben Brown when everyone said he’s limited, he’s a one trick pony, etc. Being able to lead at the foot, take a mark, and reliably kick a goal might be his single trick but it is a very useful trick.
From AFL.com Nine things we learned
7) Liam McMahon deserves a new contract
The only positive an injury-decimated year can produce is the emergence of new talent, and Essendon has found one with key forward Liam McMahon. The 23-year-old was drafted to Collingwood, spending 2021 and 2022 on its list but did not make his debut. He’s spent the past two and a half years on Carlton’s VFL list, biding his time while captaining, and Essendon pounced with the final pick of this year’s mid-season draft. He’s kicked eight goals from four matches, with four coming against Geelong on Friday night – no easy feat. - Sarah Black

McMahon first 5 games: 10 goals
Voss first 5 games: 3 goals
Loves kicking 2 goals.

Really loves kicking 3
if geelong drafted this guy he would average 4 goals a game
Broken hand? Didn’t look good
Looked like a broken wrist to me
It looked bad with the pain he was in
And another one bites the dust. Debut for Gerryen coming up.
I think that’s what the commenters said
They got that from me.
