4th Generation !!

I can’t think of any other Essendon family that’s had players listed from four generations.

Its overly challenging to get a trial at clubs in Europe. If you have played semi-pro and your young enough, a lot of clubs give opportunities to trial.

Getting a contract at a big club is a different story.

Usually you Need to start out playing in 3rd & 4th tier divisions in Europe, which are a tough slog. You don’t get paid much, you might be living in countries that don’t speak much English, you could be living in regional towns and feeling isolated, and many of those leagues can get pretty volatile both on and off the pitch.

VFL football sounds pretty glamorous to me, in comparison.

A future Brownlow medalist by my reckoning*.

*I’m not a very good judge of these things.

I heard he was offered a soccer contract but chose to come back here for uni. Anyway, I’m thrilled he’s signed with us, especially as he has two younger brothers with athletic potential to follow his lead. Hope the Hirds feel as happy as I do that the club has persevered.

Is his height listed anywhere?

How old is he?

Thats the big one for alot of young players.

You could wind up in a town in regional Croatia.
