I’m confused… Anyway, just watched the 3 goals against cwood in 2015.
2 things of note:
2 of the 3 goals were kicked when a team mate looked up and saw him in acres of space. Said teammate could’ve kicked it 5 meters either side of him and he would’ve got there and marked it under no pressure.
2 of the 3 goals came within 4 and a half minutes of the end of the quater
Both of these things appear to have been the product of sheer hard work, fitness and football smarts.
Unless he’s done 0 to keep fit or the game has somehow gone past him since August 2015, he WILL make a significant difference to the way our side functions.
Watching his little highlight thing on BTV just reminded me of that game against PA in '14 or '15 where he busted his ankle and even on one leg still managed to drag us kicking and screaming over the line. Great game.
Will he be best 22 at the end of 2017? I have my doubts.
Who else is taking his wing?
Jerrett? Nope.
Edwards? Will be delisted.
Look at Montagna at Saints, still going strong and older than Stants IIRC
Stants will kill it in 2017 and with the way the interchange cap is going still be doing so in 2018.
There is a reason why Stanton was only offered a one year deal at the completion of the 2015 season - Stanton’s 2015 was just average.
Oh fark of you miserable ■■■■.
In 2015 he played every game and had 89% time on ground.
Averaged 26 disposals, 6 marks and 4 tackles.
Take it up with the club. Its the club who offered a one year contract.
Anyway Goddard is finding it tricky to get more than a one year contract.
Wasn't Stanton offered a 1 year deal with a trigger clause for a second year based on games played. Clearly couldn't reach the trigger given what happened therefore makes sense he is given another year.

2013…plays on one leg still kicks 2 and runs rings around the elite fitness of Port
