I’m sure the hawks can get his knee right. Trade him to the the hawks for 12 months then get Devon to request a trade back to us. Or even better just recruit the hawks medical staff.

FAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRCCCCCCKKKKK

Just listened to the Woosha press conference, still no clearer if it is one knee or both. But he did say he will release an update later this afternoon once they know if they can do both at once.

You’re going over the top, it’s not ■■■■■■ just broken in a way everybody thought he could manage for his career. Now with the second acute issue it’s time to fix it up, clean it out and rehab back to full strength.

He will be back bigger and better in 2020!

I’ll miss you buddy. Hopefully this will mean his knee will be fixed for the rest of his career.

Needs this, went extremely hard last season hence lead the tackle count… takes its toll on the body.

The op and rest will do him good

It’s one knee.

Taking a glass half full approach. It’s a positive that Draper doesn’t have do all his rehab by himself. With Smith there along side him he will get a first hand experience in understanding exactly what is needed to become a super AFL player - with a bit of mongrel and all.

Also it might be beneficial for them to develop a really strong bond given Draps will be tapping them down to Devon for the next 7 or so seasons.

After consultation with a specialist, the club confirmed the midfielder would require surgery on his trochlear, underneath the kneecap. Smith had also suffered from PCL deficiency, so the decision was made to address both injuries through surgery.

Oh well. Best to get him right long term.

Wasn’t much use this year at 80%

Do we get a rookie or another spot from the mid season draft whilst he is getting fixed up?

He would be placed on the LTI you’d imagine which would allow another mid season pick would it not?

Nope. MSD nomination ended last Friday.

But this is the AFL.

Anything can happen at anytime, regardless of the actual rules.
