#5 Devon Smith

yeah you’re not wrong.

Super important when he’s in the right frame of mind but currently playing for himself (like plenty of others).

But… but…
Backing the system.
And learnings.
etc.
etc.

The tail’s wagging the dog all over the place at Essington…

Yeah, agreed. Typified by him having an under pressure kick from 50 out when 2-3 free players were ahead of him.

he’s had a very poor year. he’s absolutely nowhere near his b&f level. i reckon that knee is absolutely cooked, but he’s making poor decisions lately

His decision making and lack of on field decision is my main concern with me.

He is no where near top form, so without the above he really brings very little to the team.

His ball use is very average. For a guy his size that should be your main asset. Pressure no problem. But when half our team that can’t hit targets it shows him up more being one of the midgets this club keeps recruiting

I think he’s probably finished.

Did we do enough home work on his degenerative knee issue when we went for him?

What has happened to this man, he was unbelievable in his first year he was a wrecking ball. Now he looks he is running on the spot, just no impact at all.

Just wait till his mate Jake gets back on to the field you’ll get old Dev back

Also, his stand out season was played in the middle, the middle is mostly shiel/tippa/mcg/zerrett/parish now

Is he fit? Definitely lost some pace and agility. Still trying hard but doesn’t have the tools at the moment.

So disappointing. This guy was just a pressure tackling machine. Seems like a headless chook right now.

He doesn’t look like his moving well to me, no energy, no power. He just doesn’t impact contests like he did.

What happened to this guy. Was a star when he won the b and f and now running around like a bloke in his 40s

Agree - short, slow and doesn’t get involved much.

I thought he lifted in the 2nd half

Snelling’s playing in his spot (and our side is badly unbalanced by having them both in it). One or the other thanks, preferably a fit Smith (though I’m pretty sure he isn’t).

Tend to agree…both are ordinary ATM, flip of a coin, but yep only one of them in, much rather see Mozzie in and one of them out

First half along with a few others, was pathetic, Devon improved in the second half but he is a shadow of his former self.
