#5 Elijah Tsatas (Part 1)

He’s already ahead of Perkins and has two less preseasons.

I’m a fan and thought he played as expected.

I was hoping to see a little more burst from him so far.

Can find the ball at will but he moves at a snails pace, and doesnt have the composure or skills to compensate for it.

I don’t see the “star” quality. At all.

But I still think he is tracking to be a pretty decent player.

We have bigger problems,

No he is not. He is a liability in the middle.

It’s both mate.

Today he couldn’t kick and he can’t make decisions.

But that’s today.

Hopefully he’s better next week.

Him, Caddy, Bryan, Roberts, Kako, Reid - they should play every game they are fit. Form or not.

Just keep sending up the kids and see if they can make the grade.

Reid thread hasn’t been bumped and Tsatas’ thread is popping off as usual, says a bit

Exactly right everyone complaining about not playing kids then slamming the same kids for being crap ate 12 games. Things do turn Adelaide is 6 years in their rebuild under Nicks we are effectively year 1 in the Rosa era. We will have another 4 top 30 picks next year. I just hope our development capability is much better than it’s been in the past. That is what worries me.

About the only kid on the list that can compete for the difficult ground balls AND spread from the contest to link up. Looking at what we just watched, he is clearly best 22 and if we are serious about rebuilding should be getting more minutes.

He’s not a liability, he’s just not the full value he could be with better foot skills.

Should have had a goal as well , if Edwards had let it go through , fwiw. And from memory that came from multiple involvements in the one passage of play.

essendon where top 10 talents become decent players

He’s making a few errors but putting his head over it better than more senior players. Just need to pump minutes into him and hope he builds some confidence. He used his pace through and away from a stoppage for the first time at senior level today.

I think this is probably right.

Thought he was decent

I can definitely see a player there

His kicking was better too

Is reid a liability down back ?
considering Mcgrath struggled, mckay struggled, redman struggled, shiel struggled ?

He really let you down with that last kick that was direct turnover goal

If the backline were race horses…

Well, clearly off the pace. Albeit on very good players in a very well drilled team. Liability? On raw output yes, but I’m not at all upset that they played him.

He needs to learn and improve one way or another, if he’s healthy he’s a complete waste in the VFL so there’s no other option. Not that many AFL teams have as much quality forward as the Crows and he’ll learn from this

and caddy and kako ? you’d essentially say the same right ?

so when people see Tsatas as a liability in the midfield, they can see it’s growing pain the club has to go through, albeit still identifying he needs to significantly improve his overall output.
