#5 - Elijah Tsatas (Part 2)

Elijah Tsatas best player explodes right on time.

I think that means something but I’m still working out what.

Our coaches aren’t smart enough to play guys in the right positions, do you really trust their judgement when it comes to voting?

Remove this IMMEDIATELY!
It has no place in the Elijah Tsatas bashing thread!

The votes might not be perfect but nobody who comes 2nd in their team for coaches votes has had a poor year.

BRING HIM IN

I’m just not sold on where he is atm. I have been searching and reading every article on the internet this entire preseason and he is an enigma. VFL, Essendon, podcasts,…..nothing!

I thought he worked his ass off and completely changed his kicking technique, and by all reports it is now fine! Fitness was likely somewhat difficult due to injuries, but this preseason he has now worked on this (addressing two way running, second efforts etc). ……. So as a supporter I have been desperate to see what type of midfielder he has now become (expecting he would definitely be in front of Sharp etc till proven not.)

And……………………….. where is he???

How’s he going???

What’s the problem with him now that he has been disregarded, and we have to listen to lazy belated half-assed lies from the club why he’s the only player on our list not getting any oppertunity in the practice games!!???!!!

PLEASE ESSENDON, what’s going on!!!

I’m making a prediction.

He will play AFL footy at some point this year and we will collectively think, nothing’s changed, still can’t kick and is defensively weak. This all whilst he collects 24 disposals, most of which are handballs.

it looked good on the outside, cos they racked up big numbers, but it still lacked substance. they only beat 1 or 2 top 8 sides that year.

The midfield got carved up again against the saints, it’s still the achilles heel of the, and that’s saying something cos there’s massive holes everywhere. parish playing creates problems because it requires moving others out of the midfield to accomodate someone that you’re hoping can regain form from 4 odd years ago, and somehow during his injury off lay has learnt about defensive aspects of the game.

I recon Parish putting on size has massively negatively effected his game. That along with the reoccurring injuries.

He already was not a quick guy, and now he just looks treacle slow.

I agree, we tried to do the same with Tsatas. Now we’re asking him to slim down and be a run with type player. Id be disappointed if he went the way of Will Phillips.

Has he been asked this?

Do you really expect the club to put out a press release every month telling us what we already know?

ā€œTSATAS IS CURRENTLY NOT IN OUR BEST 23ā€

No other player currently playing VFL gets regular public commentary issued by the club as to their development why should Tsatas be any different.

Move on already.

He looks leaner and less size to him from last season. Id say it is more to suit the extra running though that he would be expected to do with his role.

The kid can find the ball especially at clearances. I think that they are building up his fitness to be a two way runner, which is what is required of midfielders. This and also improving his kicking

I would put significant money on him not being here next year.

The coaches just don’t seem to rate him. It’s a shame because despite his weaknesses I am sure at a well structured club he would have done okay. Not many kids can find the ball 35 times a games at vfl level and read the ruck as well as Elijah can.

We had so much opportunity to play him early last year and we have opportunity now. I’d love for us to just stick him in the middle for 5 weeks and find out exactly what he is or isn’t.

There is no long term benefit to continue playing Parish or Merrett in there (drives me farking insane that we did we not trade Zac).

Parish I hope proves me wrong but I recon we have ruined him trying to add size to his frame. He is so slow already and the added size just seems to have completely drained him of any small amounts of pace.

i wouldn’t be surprised if the hawks took him, they are below afl average for clearances and he would immediately solve that problem

Hang on. Wasn’t his contract renewed at the nd of the last season? If it was , why would we continue to treat him like this?

he resigned in 24

Depends if Hinkley or Hird rates him as to whether he stays
