#5 Elijah Tsatas (Part 2)

It’s depressing watching him play atm with Elijah in no-man’s land

No way I would agree with that. He is not even close to be our best clearance player. Parish is, our best and his long term number are clear standout. He averaged between 6.5-7.7 for three seasons before his injury riddled 24/25. Which is elite for the comp. Merrett, Caldwell and Durham are also better than him and they defend and are damaging outside the stoppage.

Just because she has an outlier stat this season playing 3 games with and average of 7 doesn’t mean he is remotely close to being our best. He had 11 in the crows game and we got pumped by ten goals. The other two he reverted to a 5 a game. Do it for 12+ games and I might start to consider it.

At this point he hasn’t proven anything.

Build endurance in the pre season.

And he has worked on it, but is only mid pack at the moment.

Wingers need elite endurance.

Sorry he doesn’t suit the wing.

Im a fan of his inside game and want him to succeed but its clear he isn’t doing what is asked of him defensively.

I would love to see him focus big time on it in the VFL and and sacrifice 10 touches if he needs too

Me too, and l would love to see him routinely kick a ball at nearly flat chat without it hitting his lower shin bone, but the allure of a 41 touch game is too compelling for some.

I don’t disagree with any of that

Let him do it in the VFL for a solid block. Not this absurd sub/holdover/60% TOG carousel

Nick O’Brien could get it 40 times a game in the VFL and he was pretty much a witches hat in the seniors. Speaking of watching vision, Tsatas should probably watch Rowell’s tapes.

He would one hundred percent do it if he got a run of games and don’t forget those clearances numbers are off the back of very limited low game time.
Once he gets to full game time those numbers are going to be off the charts which is why he needs to be in the side to build that for our future

Parish isnt our best anything, except running with Ridley for the best injured listed player.

You can’t tell me you will know what parish is anymore, considering the years lost.

That’s fair and I take your point. Still though, I think with a consistent go, his speed, contested pressure and clearance ability, he’d have the opposition chasing and working alot harder than they have against Kelly and Jones.

Massimo wasn’t rated by Scott yet Mitchell was able to “fix” him by teaching him to kick on both feet. I have a feeling Tsatas is going to be the next Massimo.

The great Dodo bird proclaimed that when Massimo came to the club he was the best kick we had. Think you will find Mass had no problems kicking the thing, it was more about his game and B. Scott looked at some of his deficiencies and didn’t play him where Mitchell was happy to try and hide them and use his kicking. Just my opinion.

My intel has Tsatas gone end of year

He wants out, unsurprisingly. Was apparently put on trade table last year already - for someone who was very defensively minded. Other club said no.

Which says to me just not rated, well down in mid pecking order. Ball winning ability aside, no hurt factor or even reliability by foot, he has taken 3yrs to get his kicking up to a serviceable level & has a poor defensive side to his game.

With Parish back soon also unless we get hit with injuries I don’t expect to see Elijah in the team.

Trade to North for Duursma.

Blitz last year was speculating that we were potentially looking to trade Hobbs to Hawks as part of the trade for Maginess. May have actually been Tsatas instead.

But what an actual mess. We knew what we were drafting when we got Tstatas

With him languishing in the magoos his trade value is seriously diminished.
No club is offering up anything higher than a pick in the late 30’s for a bloke who can’t make the ones at Essendon regardless of any potential

Spot on. We draft a kid at pick 5 that can’t kick and then we don’t play him because he can’t kick. Go figure….

Not his biggest fan but wouldn’t mind seeing him have a decent run of afl footy before we put a line through him.

We’d prob just cut our losses at that, have him as part of a package for a mid we chasing or look to another young player who’s also been stuck in 2’s.

Such as Zane Duursma. Not that I think we really have a need for another medium fwd. Then again Langford keeps getting injured. And it may be further help to landing Harley.

I think if he was playing ones his trade value would be diminished more.

Idiotic to draft him in the first place especially when there was mid/forwards at our pick who offered a bit more versatility.

Not to mention the offer Melbourne put forward. ■■■■ me this club is just run by absolute ■■■■■■■ morons

Looking forward to seeing us turn a pick 5 into pick 40
