#6 Joe Daniher - wants out of Tulla on the full

ENTER MCNERNAN

Based purely on injuries not on actual knowledge from inside the club or from medical professionals who have looked at the player or from the player themselves. Easy to judge them from a keyboard with no knowledge.

Why?
I think it’s a very pertinent question to be asked.
Is there a problem with our fitness program or training loads as there appears to be far too many repetitive soft tissue injuries.
Joe and Fanta especially appear to have been mismanaged

Faark!

Yep, why the fark didn’t they operate a year ago!? Always taking the conservative approach. Always having to operate in the end. Always wasting time correcting a medical problem. Not sure that has a lot to do with the conditioning team, more the medical guys who are consulting the specialists (apparently!).

You’d imagine medical intervention was discussed last year but why on earth did they decide against it? They’ll probably say it’s better for the body to repair naturally but there’s something about Daniher’s body that is predisposed to the problem so, why didn’t they intervene medically to address the problem? It’s the medical team who should be in the gun over this.

Surgery can potentially cause worse damage, depending on the cause.

If the cause is from his hip socket (like mine was), his groin could be fixed by the operation but his hip could be a mess.
They had to remove all the cartilage from my hip so now if I go for a 5km run I can barely walk for a fortnight. I would pull up better with the OP!! However kicking a footy or jumping with OP is like trying to kick a balloon or jump with lead boots, there just absolutely no power.

Huge loss for us and very unfortunate for Joey.

He looks like he really enjoys playing footy with his mates and for the club he loves and now he has missed basically two full seasons of his prime years.

I wish him all the best in his recovery as it will be a pretty lonely place.

“appear” is the word, you have no idea if they have or have not, just you think they have because they are always getting injured. So you assume they have because it fits into the narrative you want to run with.

There is way too many players playing game underdone or injured. This has Freo under Harvey stink all over it. Why’ve fantasia and McKernan were allowed to play out the game with injuries is beyond me.

Because with OP an operation may or may not fix the problem, in fact it can sometimes create a worse situation. An operation is invasive, you don’t do them just for the sake of it.

Asking the question is fine. And necessary.

Outright demanding people lose their jobs with no knowledge of what’s going on inside the club is going a bit too far.

Yet 2 high performance people (1 involved at an AFL club and 1 at a SANFL club) were both adamant Fantasia shouldn’t have played against Sydney.

Both of whom have zero idea of Raz’s condition or situation directly but are looking in from the outside like the rest of us. Sure they may have some knowledge of similar situations, but not all situations are the same. People can speculate all they like, but making demands without the first idea what is actually going on is ridiculous.
