I have zero concern about Joe and his form.
Joe had a poor game that is it. Perspective people he still kicked 2 and had an impact. Even the greats have a poor one occasionally.
he is not the first great forward who has had his colours lowered by Talia.
Maybe Robert Walls was right, give him a run in the ruck…
Now that Stewart is our relief ruck he looks like our best forward.

Joe might have had the best game but he still had around 5-6 shots on goal and contributed in some ways up the ground. He’ll continue to improve. Lol @All_Things_Essendon wtf.
Not sure what was off about his game?
Took a massive hanger, took another great diving mark, kicked some clutch goals and missed two that 9 times out of 10 he’d kick
Had some great assists and applied pretty decent pressure
Looked like he was smiling and laughing too

In his last 3 games his first kick has been a gather at about 55m out, wheel around onto his left and bang…a scrubbed kick.

Last time Joey didn’t kick a goal in a game was round 7 2016. Round seven, two thousand and sixteen!!
He kicked 2 goals for the 1st game of the season. It was far from his best game, but still got 2. Nothing to see here, it’s one game.

Missed having a roam in the Ruck I reckon.
Every time he’s struggled to begin with, having a 5 minute free romp round the park has blown the cobwebs out, and set him going.

Still finds a Way to compete, be involved and kick a few goals when playing badly.
A different perspective is that maybe he is maturing???
Lowered his colours yet still got involved in the handball chain that led to Begleys goal???
And should have kicked more goals even though he was our worst big man on the ground.

Plenty of Essendon players pretty content just being footballers, I would say probably a dozen each week couldn’t care less if they win or lose. The culture has stunk for a decade, and still smells now. Daniher should be dropped on tonight’s effort, he is not alone, but he has been trash, both output and effort.
