Joe’s getting his fair share of media attention. There are other good forwards out there that get nowhere near e.g. Brown from North, Cameron from GWS, Lynch from GC.

What I loved about his game yesterday was that he did little in the air but still influenced the game hugely. It just highlights how difficult he is to match up on. He plays tall, small, marking, roving, running etc. He would actually be a good midfielder. To some extent WC plan to minimize his influence worked in that they double and triple teamed him and he did not take as many marks. However he just influenced the game in other ways and it just gave Hooker more latitude.
Two other points. That first free was a legitimate two hands in the back free kick even though he did act. That ruck goal looked easy at face value but if you look at it a few times it was actually quite incredible. It won’t win goal of the week but I’d doubt a better goal was kicked.
