People need to remember that medical science isn’t an exact science and the human body isn’t an exact machine.
Every body is different. Every body is predisposed to different injuries and diseases given the same circumstances. Every body then responds to treatment differently - some faster, some slower, some not at all.
Over the years medical science (and related disciplines) have treated, experimented, observed, analysed and recorded the reasons for injury and disease and the treatments. They have come a long way, but its still a pretty inexact area; most of it is still really an educated “lets try this and see”.
And obviously the above extends to the treatment of injuries at an AFL club. Each player is different , each injury is different.
The medical staff and the sports scientists at the Club use the best available information to diagnose and treat an injury. It would be a multi-disciplinary approach, Drs, Physios, trainers, specialists. But there is no magic formula that gets it right.

If anyone saw the Dominator interviewed by MIke Sheahan last week, they discussed how he became dependent on pethidine, and had this drug preoblem for yearsa fter footy. He was given needles during the week to train and on game day.
Now you would hope that today, the Club Doctors are smarter, but if us Dumb spporters sititng in the outer could see that Joey was injured then what ???

so you say its unbelievable that our medical gurus were wrong, but then go on to say that its ‘closer to the mark than you think’ at the suggestion that he is being hidden until the end of the year because he is in poor form?
right.
