Oh.
So our injuries are proof our doc stuffed up, and their injuries are irrelevant because their doc does good research work.

I put it to you there’s not that big a link between a doctor’s research and how good they actually are at treating patients/players

That sounds like the Grog Squad

More like a “Girls of Blitz” Pre Game session I’d say.

Hopefully by Daniher-Day he’ll put his jumper on front facing forwards. Either that, or his body is more twisted than we thought.

No, it’ll be two or three rounds in.

It’s only sensible that he does a pre season first.

Talk about reading between the lines to suit a preconceived idea.
Big meeting.
Joe will want to try and play this year.
Coaches will lay out when they’d want him match fit by if he is to play any games ( up to, and including finals)
Physios and docs will discuss what they’d need to do to meet that timeline, not just rehab but also fitness, and the risk to Joes recovery.

Decision will be made. Either; - Try it and monitor,
Or - Not feasible, take till pre season.

Inform Joe.

Talking bullocks, eh?

You were given a bum steer.

Bullocks would be more associated with calf injuries.

You can’t be a slave to two masters.

The only players that I specifically mentioned are JD and Gumbleton. Both are examples of mismanagement in my opinion. I also didn’t say that the injuries to the Collingwood players were because of the doctor’s “good research”. What I said was that the players mentioned, Treloar aside, had a long history of injury and that the current doctor, Ruben Branson, had only taken up the role since November 2017, and therefore it could be claimed that the treatment of the players before his arrival was not as good as it could have been (maybe even mismanaged).

If we consider Dr Ruben Branson’s CV alone one can certainly recognise his qualifications and areas of experience and expertise. He is a strong advocate for the use of pentosan polysulphate for use in arthritic knees and bone bruising. He is an advocate of the use of cell therapies for the non invasive treatment of ACL injuries.

Possessing this knowledge of cutting edge sports medicine coupled with the traditional treatments provides the opportunity for the physicians and the players to achieve the best outcome for the athlete.

I would like to understand your second sentence and the evidence that supports that statement. It would surprise me that athletes do not seek diagnosis and treatment from the best Sports Medicines Specialists available. In general, timely and informed diagnosis can provide the best treatment and outcome for the athlete.

LOL.

You can claim anything you want - just don’t expect everyone to swallow it.

I’ll give you $1.01 odds the Pies shake up their medical & fitness team this off-season.

Hopelessly mismanaged situation by EFC. His form dropped, his kicking was terrible, he had opposition players running off him and we kept playing him. Every man and his dog could see that something was wrong. If it was just poor form, he should have been dropped or rested, let alone having a season ending injury. Once again a football club destroys a player for short term gain. Someone has to be held accountable, I wonder if the Board have asked the hard question or are they just going to sit back like they did during the supplements saga? I have a bad feeling the Board are “leaving it to the medical team” and will do nothing to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

Just read about the meeting coming up about Joey’s playing future for this year on EFC website

Concerned if an osteo pubis specialist is not part of that meeting

It sounds to me that Joe should see the rest of the year out resting and recovering

Medical “science” is informed guesswork.
Unless it’s in that TV show about the the brilliant, eccentric, but deeply dysfunctional Sports Scientist who everyone disagrees with but is always right.
Why don’t we get him / her?

No ones thinking he’ll be back this year right?

Players’ welfare and rehab should be handled by forum poll. It’s the only way to get a professional result.

Sounds like the club is gathering enough people on Saturday to do something similar
