Rest is the best treatment for OP
He has had plenty
He will be right to go

I seriously hope he finds some accuracy this year.
Has he been working on his goalkicking at any point during the pre season and is anyone giving him specialised coaching in this area?
Matthew Lloyd straightened him up for a while.

1000 posts about him resting, and hopefully being over his OP, and you wish to know if he has been working on his goalkicking?

Safe to say he hasn’t.

Who cares about that. I just hope he’s been working on his finger twirl.

That’s what she said, …

Wonder if there are any related benefits to JD’s game from his recovery program? You know, like increased core/calf/thigh strength enabling him to stand up in contests rather than flop to the ground?

Hate to sound like a broken record but you realise that in 2017 when Joey kicked 65 goals he was more accurate than both Buddy and Riewodlt have been in the last 2 years? Nobody is questioning their accuracy.

It’s amazing how football fans in general (mainly referring to non-Essendon fans but also some Bombers too) seem to have written off Joey as a spud yet they conveniently forget how good he was in 2017. 65 goals, Crichton Medallist and an All-Australian guernsey. For a player so reliant on athleticism to be robbed of the ability to run and jump thanks to this injury, no wonder he looked a shadow of himself. It’s heartening to see he is progressing with his training loads. A fit an in-form Daniher will be a nightmare of any opposition defence.

I would assume that doesn’t take OOF into account.
No-one can deny the number of goals he kicked, but to ignore that he was snapping kicks across his body from 25 metre set shots (and still missing) that you’d confidently back an U/13 kid to nail is silly.

Not just 2017. He’s progressed his whole career and had one setback.

In 2014 he was promising but inconsistent, like all kids. In 2015 he got more consistent. In 2016 the goals started to come and he became a handful for opponents in a ■■■■ side. In 2017 he was unstoppable. If you kept him out of it on the goal line he’d move into the ruck and set up other forwards. He’s a gun and he will be back.

It actually does mate. Not including OOF he was shooting at 60%. Including OOF he was 56%.

Buddy: 2017 (Coleman) 48.7% 2018 - 49.6%
Riewoldt: 2017 50.5% 2018 (Coleman) - 55.1%

All this proves is that Essendon fans love to ■■■■■■■ complain and also the media like to beat us up a little.

That is surprising.
It doesn’t change the fact that Daniher (and Hooker for that matter) radically changed how they took set shots due to their inaccuracy.
And I’d back Riewoldt 30 metres out directly in front over Daniher eleven times out of ten.

Almost every footy fan would say that kicking for goal by the stars of the game could be better. Not just Essendon fans.

It is surprising. I guess his freak goals he finds when the ball is bouncing around inside 50 bump that number up a bit. Reason i know this is because i looked it up when some mates that barrack for Richmond and Sydney were talking about how bad he was in front of goal. They have never mentioned it again.

Buddy has always had people questioning his accuracy and there were jokes about him kicking 100 behinds in a season. Reiwodlt has escaped scrutiny I agree.

Dan Richardson didn’t sound too confident on SEN this morning regarding Joe playing round one. Andy Maher was asking if it would be mid season before we saw Joey. Didn’t exactly shut it down.

Another year without our best player.

That’s awesome.

Seems excessive.
5 weeks til JLT1
8 weeks til round one.
Four months ‘til round 10.

It takes as long as it takes, but four months when he’s sprinting now seems very cautious.
