Wow interesting you went back a week to reply based on my comment saying he was solid despite his 100m gained.
I thought he was really poor in the first half with multiple turnovers leading the Brisbane scores. Do you not agree?
Unsighted in the last as he had to deal with an opponent, who got 7 touches himself.
Hit a purple patch in the 3rd which was really pleasing to see. I gave him 3 votes just for that quarter alone.
But i will maintain he is a middling midfielder until he can perform consistently. Still struggles with his defensive spread and trails his opponents too often in transition. So far this year, he was excellent R1 and excelled quarter 3 this week and that’s about it.
I know he is everyone favourite so i will get push back, but its kind of sad to go back a week to personally attack someone who has a different opinion.
I thought his first quarter, especially the first 10 minutes or so, was bloody awful. But he responded well and his third quarter was enormous.
He’s a quality player, but he isn’t great on the spread and to get the best out of him we need better defensive runners next to him in the centre. That’s almost certainly Durham and Merrett, but effectively rules out Parish, Shiel, Perkins, Hobbs, Setterfield and Tsatas (most of our midfield rotation, unfortunately).
We really struggle to find the right complementary balance in all parts of the field. Sometimes the more talented guy has to miss out to allow for the player who better balances the group he’s playing with. The really good teams of recent years have been able to identify and implement this kind of stuff really well, I reckon.
Not here to argue but to point out something that ■■■■■■ me off.
Dunkley was holding Jye at every stoppage for the first 10 minutes of the last quarter.
Calders could have rightly got a free at almost every one of them. Every time Caldwell tried to move Dunkley would grab him for a second or 2, completely hold him so he couldnt move then let go.
Its annoying how its rules for some but not for all. If Dunkley had of done that to Daicos or any other comp favourite it would have been instant free kicks.
Guelfi and Jye are performing. Maybe having a outlet helps.
Its not as if they are going to the US on mid season break paid by a sponsor and belting someone, or going to bali on mid season break and getting into trouble there too.
On field performance of players is more important than where they holiday.
Perkins might need to put his head down. Struggling a bit for form.
I have no problem with there performance and I never said that, the post you quoted was a joke from what he said on the show players.
On the flip side those two in ginni and bruhn are not the type you’d want your kids hanging out with, and if they like to get on the stuff it’s a fair chance their mates do aswell.
