Might get to 10 debuts by the end of the season at this rate.
is there a mid-mid season draft? might need it after next week
How is this not stating facts?
we won’t win many more
Tbf, anyone trying to suggest it was ‘only injuries’ that have lead to 6 debuts this season is also weaponising a non-binary argument.
I watched that young Richmond team play with dare, courage and enthusiasm
Their supporters looked so invested in supporting their young players.
Meanwhile we’re watching 28 year olds fumbling and missing handball targets……. Missing targets from 20 meters away………. And refusing to even move the ball forward.
Our senior players look so f*cking entitled, and so lethargic.
Yeesh. I’d rather watch the game again.
Like they did to Norf or Melbourne maybe ?
It’s like us and North, playing to limit damage when the ball inevitably gets turned over and slingshot the other way
Was a very enjoyable night. First time all 6 of us in our family were there together. We had amazing seats on L2 and arrived just before the pre game festivities kicked off.
Thanks to the dream team ancestors for stopping the rain just prior to the pre game festivities and keeping it away all game. People are underselling how wet and miserable the day was and how slippery the surface was. It excuses some butchery from both teams.
We won on the G on a cold and slippery night after getting a demolishing the week prior without Draper, Ridley, Parish & Bryan. Langford and Reid both hurt.
Clarke will win Rising Star Nomination from his debut. His running, smarts and clean ball use were amazing. Was not overwhelmed by the occasion with 76k crowd.
Martin was amazing. Ran so much and had an enormous game. Did it from the first bounce and clear he wanted the team to make amends for last week.
Durham was awesome. Duursmas workload was huge, especially defensively.
To Wrights credit he ran hard, presented and used his body which is something I have always knocked him over.
Ibiza is a big asset as a defensive forward and had a good first game back.
McKay didn’t drop his head after a slow start and ran hard and worked himself back into it in the 2nd half.
Caddy was hurt very early and was lame but still tried to push through.
Jay Leno was creative and although made errors was attempting to move the ball forward rather than always a quick handpass backwards
We have a 200 gamer in Roberts. Love him. Ripped into Lav late. He’s a yapper and reminds me of the Bombers players of eras gone by.
We mark Merrett super hard but he was good. Never stopped working and driving standards.
Fedora worked into it late but is alarmingly slow. Would be a good half forward in a team pressing top 6.
Prior, Gresham, Lav, Langford & Setters aren’t our future. Neither is Shiel nor ADJ who didn’t play.
Unsure of Hobbs but granted he didn’t play much. Redman would also look better in a team where his kicking was used more than his defensive abilities.
Caldwell still getting match fit.
Goldy was admirable as always.
Was a very enjoyable night.
Such a great concept by Sheeds. Hopefully the AFL can sort out the gaps in pathways for Indigenous kids as it just felt weird only having Gresh with First Nations blood representation us. I appreciate that ADJ isn’t deserving of a go the way he’s playing in the 2’s but the AFL must improve in this area. I hear Matthew Stokes speech earlier this week on the gaps and he spoke very well. There’s far too many gifted indidgenous kids who aren’t getting the opportunities I believe they deserve. Aussie rules is such an entertaining sport and the game is missing a key ingredient in that with the lack of current listed First Nations players.
We’ve got a long ways to go as a club, both in terms of talent and game plan, and I’m not silly enough to think wins over the bottom teams shift the reality of last week.
Just feel like the desperation of success after decades in the wilderness and unrealistic expectations of BDB who’s < 2 and a half years into his regime change, are taking away the joy of nights like last night.
In years not far back in our recent history, we lose last night
How dare you enjoy the game and find positives.
That’s clutching at straws Taranto played pretty well 23 and 2 goals and 12 and the reason they were nullified in clearance was the tigers lack of a decent ruck or second ruck.
People love to pump setterfields tires but it was a average game
Tim Taranto, one of the key young Tiger cubs driving the club forward during this properly done full rebuild.
Certainly the tigers didn’t do themselves any favours by going out and blowing a bunch of capital on Taranto and Hopper to refresh (in the sense of immediately return to contention) their list, only to have the coach quit mid-season and find themselves with two blokes with 7 year contracts nobody else wanted any part of.
15 touches, 1st year player, played every game and only 10 games in. Sure he is still learning but give him a break. I reckon he is going to be elite. Caddy and Kako are our future.
I like you. Please post on here at will.
Hird had his chance.
