I want to believe Zach but Reid was not on king, mckay was, so bit of credibility lost there.
Secondly, your setup behind the ball should be the same praccy game or not… and we got smashed in transition.

Reid definitely played chunks on King (and was on him at the opening bounce).
Suspect paying attention before questioning someone else’s credibility may be worthwhile.

Who has done that? I must have missed something. But he is 1000x the best captain for us at the moment. I don’t see anyone else arguing any different.
What I found funny was saying it’s called match simulation for a reason… well yeah…. It’s a funny comment to make because if you put those terms together it means simulating a match…. Which if we did we are in for a shocker of a season.
All setting up for probably the most important and maybe telling praccy match for club in a long time. Big boy pants will be in their kit bags, whether they put them on, we shall see.

You know what you get with Merrett, I’d like to see him kick more goals this year though.
Totally agree, if this season a flop, thats it, we doomed (i acknowledge we already in that space, this season the promised ticket out hopefully). If they serve up same crap, likely I and many others will cancel memberships as one can only take so much. My hard earnt dollars will no longer flow to the club if no sign of them earning theirs. Simples.

Yep, precisely. Plus I’m not expecting finals, just consistency…and not consistently disappointing performances but a consistent, competitive effort. All I’ve wanted for the past 20 years.

My issue with the remark is that it’s emblematic of the clubs continuing belief, seemingly, that intensity, effort and proper structures can just be turned on an off like a tap. They can’t, performing at your best needs to become the minimum acceptable standard and making excuses for not meeting that standard is, frankly, shirking.
Now Merret is one of the few at the club who legit busts his balls every time he crosses the line and I have faith that he will demand certain standards from the group but he missed an opportunity here to put the acid on the group and instead made an excuse for them. That’s disappointing.

Pretty sure he said he expects Essendon to play finals, Lloyd can stfu as well, bloke thinks we’re better than we are, then gets other Essendon fans riled up when we fail.
Making finals is a reward for week to week consistent effort, let’s get the 1st bit right 1st.
Some of he’s defensive efforts and running is putrid for a leader of the club.
Two weeks in a row he’s been spotted just jogging and letting players stream past him in the middle
