#7 Zerrett - could double his Crichton/Trevor Barkers by 2027

We are very lucky that Merrett has been so resilient over his career. Has missed very few games due to injury.

He must have a different person looking after his strength and conditioning instead of Murphy.

As one of the older fans on here, Zach’s performance does in no way make me feel uncomfortable, quite the opposite. When he has ball in hand l feel that good things are about to happen, and they usually do.

Makes me happy to hear Zac is keen to go another 10 years. Legend

He definitely has a lot more in him. He is durable and as he gets older can easily move to either a half forward / back flank and extend his career with his kicking skills

How many Crichton Zac win?

Love all this talk around Zach prolonging his career and seeing if he can win 10x Crichtons, 10 AA etc…

BUT - in reality. If we are to become the side we all wish, Zach will still play the 10 years but his dominance over the individual awards will start to dry up in the next 3-4 years.

I see Pendlebury as a great example. 6 x AA winner, 5 x BnF… Pendles last AA was in 2019 (when he was 31) and his last BnF was in 2016 when he was 28.

The likes of Caldwell, Duz, Ridley etc should be winning the BnF’s in the next few years before hopefully the Perkos, Cox’s, Tsatas’ do.

I had a dream last night that Zach broke his leg in the Melbourne game this weekend.
They say if you tell someone of a premonition or dream it won’t happen. Hence this post on blitz.

I was expecting Merrett to get focus and possibly be taken out if the game in influence. He’s still not great at dealing with a tag and the side / him have struggled when he isn’t getting it all his way.

He needs helpers. Thought Shiel is the type who could support as he’s dynamic and attacking. But they need Parish back as he’s the one who is best able to pick up the slack if Merrett isn’t performing.

ed norton said it, himself and the half backs targeted merrett, so that should’ve left 2 free players around the ground, the team squibbed it.

Since he has been getting more attention and not getting enough support from his teammates to break the tag, his frustration has become noticeable on the field. He has been appealing for
Free kicks instead of throwing himself back into the contest. Last week he put his head down and was a beast.
