Don’t think Ridley as much of a leader, he seems too quiet and not the forceful type that we need. Caldwell is the one I’d go with.
Hobbs could seize the moment and step up, similar to Caldwell this year.

I don’t think Zerret will go. The club would be mad to consider it.
But, conversely, he will probably supersede Jobe as the best Essendon player never to play in a premiership.

I don’t mind if the Saints win the Flag with Merrett.
No teams supporters (except for FC) deserve to go without the ultimate success for as long as they have.
Every side has broken their duck, barr the Saints.
Who knows if their late season form was real and Merrett pushes them high next year ?

God I hope this happens. Merrett is a great player but a lousy leader. Get as much draft capital as we can pre Tasmania. Caldwell to captain the side and off we go.

Oh man i tell you. I’m keen on getting this done personally. We really need to reshuffle the decks and his one of our only players with capital. I think they’d play hardball with giving up 2 1st rounder’s but if they really want him they will have too.
I know it doesn’t mean those 2 first rounders will be stars but to grab 4 top 15 players will set us up well in our rebuild (none of this will happened due to the club being delusional lol)
Overall it tells you where the clubs at with these sort of rumours going around. When there is smoke, fire aint too far away
