#7 Zerrett - could double his Crichton/Trevor Barkers by 2027

You’d only force a trade if you knew that the trade offer could better our compo pick.

If we were to get a compo pick of 4-6 then it’d be hard to see what clubs could offer that’s better than that…

Especially when the club he’d consider would more than likely be in the top 4-6 and somewhere near flag contention. So the best offer they’d come up with if we decided to match and force a trade would be Pick 13-18 (which would probably slide further after FA compo and pick bids for father/son like Nick Daicos) and probably a 2nd round pick and/or fringe players. Would you rather that or bank the FA compo and try and draft another kid the calibre of Cox/Perkins? I’d definitely prefer the latter…

Seriously man… you put way to much stock in media designed to trigger you. Don’t you know how this all works by now?

where did he say this?

I heard him on the radio before our game against Freo.

Why won’t Port trade or deal with us? They robbed us for Ryder and when it comes to Fantasia, pick 29 in a ■■■■ draft year for a walk up best 22 player is a good deal for them.

They don’t want to give up draft picks this year or next year.

Then they shouldn’t chase players they would have to give up draft picks for.

I hate Port Power. Probably second to Hawthorn. I do hate FarkCarlton too, but weirdly maybe not as much as Port.

Port really are just a bunch of scummy scabs if they honestly think that they can pick up the top players from other clubs for nothing.

I farking hope that all the Vic based clubs make them sweat every year by continually trying to raid their Vic talent and ramping up their efforts to pile on the anxiety for these frontrunning, flat track bullying soffcocks.

Butters or Dursma will do if they want Merrett

Give one of them a bigger contract then what they are getting at Port and a chance to return home and play in one of the biggest clubs in Victoria

Yeah, nah. I’ll take the smaller contract and stay with a team playing finals thanks

There are some things that you see on the internet that truly make you feel sick in the stomach… this is one of them.

Bulldogs for me
Can not stand that club

Bulldogs? Pffft!
They are almost as irrelevant as Norf.

Can not stand them
Afl love child.
So many “supporters” that came out of the woodwork
Free rides from the afl
That club should have folded years ago
If it was a business it would have been declared bankrupt and disappeared

It wasn’t a hard hit and he got one back. Harden up. Play on.

Games people play. Isn’t that Player Agent 101 ?

I suspect they “shop” players around, leak the names of the interested clubs, then negotiate with the club with that background every time.
The only problem is, the list managers know that that is exactly what player managers do.

It is shocking to see the snipers after Merret almost every week. As I recall, he was copping rough play even when he first came to the club. Ambrose and Zerret came to the club in the same season, and Ambrose stood up for him quite a few times when oppo players dished out the rough stuff. But in recent years, as Zerret toughened up and could take the rough stuff, oppo players have started lining him up behind play. Bravo Truck for pointing out the difference between taking hits when you expect it, and copping hits out of the blue behind play .

Considering the many benefits of being an Essendon player and the reach our club has in various industries, if we actually were a perennial finals team like some smaller clubs then we’d be a force during the off-season at luring players and getting guys to stay for less.

If we had geelongs off field cult like culture then we’d be hated for all the right reasons.
