Suggest another, “Nail Boot” maybe, or “Gas” , or more climate friendly “Induction” ?

the kettle, as in Russell Hobbs

Hobgoblin

So he will go play with Geelong

goblin and hobgoblin are i sniff glue level of nicknames

as do the americanisms.

FFS ‘show out’?!

Mr repeat efforts

It’s such a rarity to see an EFC mid fight for 2, 3, 4 contests and fight for the ball as hard as they fight to stop the opposition gettting it away

I’d spew if my nickname was goblin.

Without a doubt, the biggest upside to the bombers all year. To think he is only in his 2nd year, he has basically supplanted all bar Merrett, and Parish in terms of importance in the centre square. IMHO…

Yeah, let’s get back to those good old Aussie classics like Chook and Knackers !!

yeah goblin sounds like that bloke everyone puts ■■■■ on

It’s a dynamic nickname. When he’s injured he’s Hobblin’

Unpopular opinion I realise but for me Hobbs had an off game despite the good 29 disposal count. He was ineffectual with the ball (12 turnovers) and had little Impact with only 3 score involvements. If that was Parish this thread would read very different.

Think people are taking into account Hobb’s age and the fact that he scraps for every possession he can.

It definitely wasnt his most influential game moving us forward but the raw numbers added onto his persistence whenever he is near the contest is what excites people.

The kid has that special trait where he just wills himself and the team on to win the ball.
He will captain us one day, and if there was one player on our list who I think will finally be the one to lead us to success its this kid.
Very special sort of person/player.

I think he was a little quiet in the middle of the game but he had a really solid first quarter and I thought he was probably our best player in the last quarter. He was instrumental in us winning the game.

Parish is in his prime. Hobbs is in his 2nd season. Parish is a team leader. Hobbs is a rookie. Parish is a genuine gun. Hobbs is looking likely to be a genuine gun.

Im not sure Parish is a player who you build a midfield around. I think everyone can see that Hobbs is the type that you can structure recruitment to build around.

Tidying up his disposal certainty a key focus, was known pre draft area to work on

But got plenty to his game that is going very well

I thought he was huge in the contest and we probably don’t win if he’s not playing. All the more impressive that he’s only played 20 odd games.

I think you’re a little harsh on both Hobbs and Cox generally.
