Don’t bring the poo jogger into it, that didn’t go down well.
You don’t want to go full throttle there.
That gag stinks.
Gag is right. I gagged when I saw that codger dropping the kids off at the pool.
He didn’t take them to a pool, he threw them out on the street…
2 more years (til 2020)
Great news… wonder if we got a discount as we signed him whilst injured?
Either way im happy about this
Listening to the interview on Bomber TV he seems no chance to come back this year. He was talking about start of next year. No good.
That jumped out to me as well.
Like big Joe, best to get him back 100% next year rather than take any risk for any short term gain.
Essendon Football Club is pleased to announce Marty Gleeson has extended his contract for a further two years.
The new deal will see the 23-year-old don the sash until at least the end of 2020.
Gleeson said he is thrilled to re-sign with the Bombers.
“I’m absolutely stoked to sign on for another two years. I love the club, I love the boys and I think we’re going in the right direction, so I can’t wait to see what we can achieve over the next few years,” Gleeson said.
“We’ve got a lot of players around that 22-25 age bracket, so hopefully we can keep working hard together and we can continue to build towards something special.
“Obviously it is hard being injured at the moment but that’s part of footy. I’m just looking forward to hopefully getting back to playing soon.”
Gleeson has played 69 games in the red and black since being drafted in 2012 with pick 53.
After debuting in 2014, Marty solidified his spot in the senior side, playing 60 games over the following three years.
The courageous defender injured his ankle during the 2018 JLT Community Series, leaving him sidelined for the majority of the AFL season.
Senior Coach, John Worsfold, said Gleeson is an important player for the Bombers future.
“Marty’s form last year and during the pre-season was outstanding,” Worsfold said.
“He has grown into a great young clubman. Marty has inspired many with his attitude towards rehabilitation and is doing everything he can to return to the field.
“He has become an important asset to our backline and we are excited to see what he can achieve at Essendon over the next few years.”
Langford and Bellchambers the critical two left to sign on for next year.
I agree with this.
Has Stewartsigned yet? There was some talk about that earlier in the year but I don’t recall anything official
I like Gleeson a lot.
Such an important player for us down back. Skilled, great reader of the ball in the air and courageous.
Here’s hoping for a successful pre-season to come back better than before.
Rapt with this.
Good to see he’s washed all that Fark Carlton out of his hair…and the wearing of St Kilda jumpers (à la Koroit)
Very happy with this news… We miss Marty!
It’s made my day, anyway.
