#8 Marty Reppin' Gleeson - no more Marty Party

Indeed we do.

Gleeson, Zerrett, Jerrett, Heppell, Colyer and hopefully Laverde. Plenty to like about that core.

Just one more nuggety disposal wizard like Zerrett would be awesome.

I still have faith in Hams.

Peeto dislikes this.

Maybe Neil Craig is a blitzer.
He just came out with this:

Zach Merrett is having an excellent season and is really stamping himself as one of the quality young players in the competition. At just 19, supporters have many exciting years ahead watching Zach represent our football club.
Martin Gleeson continues to impress. He was involved in a number of chains of possession through the middle of the ground. Jackson Merrett provided important run and defensive pressure in his return to the side and Shaun McKernan was another strong performer. Shaun has had to work hard for his opportunity, spending time on the rookie list, but he has a chance now to really establish himself as a consistent AFL player.
The results over the last month have been disappointing, but the young players coming through certainly provide some excitement and should give cause for great hope

I guess you have to be blind freddy not the see the vision and quick thinking of Zerret and Marty and the 2nd and 3rd efforts of McKernan.
It only has to come off 60% of the time and you have 50% more insiode 50s than the opposition. Then all you need is the Forward horsepower and conversion rate so you actually win games

I’m loving the new “maybe X reads blitz” meme.

Surely it’s a meme.

If players, coaches, administrators want to know what supporters are thinking, just lurk or even join social media forums…

No need to even post HAP, they can register on Blitz and read everything. If they really want to tune into the broader footy zeitgeist I suppose they mostly go to Big Footy, but if GCS have a site, they could visit there and find out the prevailing sentiment there.

Read this and thought you meant the CEO. Only just realised you meant X as in “insert name here”.

If you read Blitz you’d know

You mean you don’t have to play golf with everyone to find things out?

I think that this was his best game for the club. He looked much more assured, and provided a lot more run than other weeks. I hope that today’s step up is a sign of things to come - he is someone that I’ve had some concerns around … mostly around him being beaten defensively, but I was most impressed by him

A couple more kg’s/bigger tank and he will be a sensational 150+ game wingman moving forward.

Kid has great intent to create play by taking the game on.plays the game as it should be played.

Haven’t seen the game yet but I really like his style of how he looks to create time and space by taking his man on and opening up the play. Brilliant attribute for a <50 game player to have that confidence in himself and take the game on.

Get him on the ‘Cow-A-Day’ diet asap.

Got all the goods but gets rag-dolled & slapped around like a red-headed step child.

He is an attacking/damaging player, similar to the Merrett boys. If Melksham can hold his form, these four players will provide a lot of drive off half back and across the centre.

I think Gleeson may be able to play forward as well.

He has gone past/taken over from Dempsey.

As far as he has come I won’t be a true believer until he plays well in a big game.
