Agree, I’m keeping my expectations in check. I’ll be happy if he only wins 2 brownlows.

If he doesn’t make it, I’m super confident that it won’t be due to attitude or lack of effort and application.

Which to be blunt, nobody could say the above about Perkins.

Have a listen to Robey’s interview that he did with the Lunchtime Catch-up boys (pre draft) and you’ll be satisfied that he is an absolute ripper. Loves working hard, loves cracking in and buying into the physical stuff and importantly he has life perspective and knows what an opportunity he has ahead of him.

And more than just words, you only need to look at how hard he had to fight and scrap to even get a shot within the mainstream talent pathway (Coates Talent League) let alone to get drafted. Those guys often appreciate it more.

Taking my Robey bias hat off.

Robey for me was clearly the best young player in the country the last 5 weeks of Talent League (including finals)

Clean hands off the ground, powerful, embraces physicality and wins his own footy. Rotates perfectly between high forward and midfield. Kicks incredibly straight for goal too. I sincerely have a lot of confidence in his game. I think we all need to give him a few months with no pre-season but its not just fun fandom for me. This kid was amazing to watch in all 3-4 finals for Eastern Ranges. Was in the best three in every game… two i had BOG. Did all that with a bad injury.

My confidence hasn’t waived one bit of what i think he could be. He was our first pick for a reason.

Yeah I haven’t been this excited to see a draftee of ours in years. He has the traits that you love to see in a player IMO. He’s basically the opposite of our usual draftees. Which is why I’m excited. Built like a brick shĀ”thouse too which helps.

My father in laws brother is friends with Sully’s dad and can confirm the kid is an absolute killer attitude wise.

He will leave no stone unturned getting the best out of himself. He’s also very much Archie Roberts like when it comes to on field physicality. He loves that stuff.

Even if Robey doesn’t become a star, you’d think he has the size, speed and strength to at least be a tagger in the Dunkley mould.

I reckon we want a bit more than a negating role. A tagger just keeps us at 12th on the ladder.

Sullyyyyy

Great to get the inside info.

Does Sully’s dad know McPhee’s dad?

A client of mine is involved in local footy as his son played and he said he is arrogant, which made me excited. We need some players like that. Can’t wait to watch the kid play.

You see, this is what really annoys me about Blitz. I try my hardest to temper my expectations, and then you go and post ā– ā– ā– ā–  like this. Why CJ? Why???
