He might be able to call it a rebuild now.
Depends on who he drops.
it is a rare win, in the past it would have been vfl bye then have them as held over emergency then sub the week after. so this is a much better result
On the âpicking guys on formâ argument - Sully was quiet last week but had 23 and 4 the week prior. Its the inconsistencies youâd expect of a young player so all good.
I would have probably given him 1 more week in the VFL personally, but with no VFL games this week iâm not so fussed. All good x 2.
Go well Sully. Go win us a flag.
I get that no footy during 2020 made picking players challenging but the whole cohort has proven to be bang average. Surely a year off playing didnât make good footballers bad??
Is he ready for AFL fitness wise? No. But with no VFL game this weekend and a spot on the bench to rest, itâs a good chance for him to come in a get a sniff of the real deal.
Not like it destroys our finals chances !!
Iâm guessing Caddy isnât playing?
Not sure that 1mm of rain is a reason not to debut him.
I look forward to seeing sully play the fat side wing role that all debutants must play
If 1mm of rain was enough to stop a forward, then not forwards would ever get off the mark in winter
Will you stop whinging!
Probably not
We are gonna have Sully and Nate in the one forward line arenât we this weekend?
Oh boy.
Honestly would have loved to have give him more time to get up to match fitness.
Iâm all for playing the kids, but this seems forced and isnât going to do him any favours after zero pre season and a stress fracture.
Anyway, go well.
I like this , on the basis that if he needs limited minutes you can treat it like Sydney did with Papley in round 1 - essentially as a sub only looking to play 40-50 percent game time - and get more consistent minutes into the 22. I do feel like our bench rotations have resulted in some weird , less than ideal minutes for some mids. And that might explain some of the lack of form from a couple of key players.
I canât believe that people are sooking about this.
Nice troll
Letâs all just keep realistic expectations for Sully and hope he plays well. For those unaware, playing well on debut is not measured by stats. If he doesnât kick 4 and have 28 touches, donât write him off.
I figured that theyâd bring him with no VFL this week but also to then get 2 games into him before Anzac Day - so that way he somewhat knows what to expect out there (besides 2 pending bloodbaths)
Hard to say,
But the whole cohort sucking bar a few standouts, considering even that Archie Perkins is considered a success relative to the rest of the draft based on games played.
The average games is down, and a lot of other metrics are down compared to say 2019 which you can check on draft guru.
Is it just bad or bad due Covid, who knows. Canât imagine Covid helped.
