#9 - Sullivan Robey ⭐

He looks a really good player. He was effective on the ball on the weekend and I’m keen to see him play there again. If his team mates eventually use him moving forward when he is at centre half forward or in a flank he will be really useful.

Please give dictionary definition of explosive when used in relation to a sports person:

AI summary:

When used in relation to a sports person, explosive describes an athlete capable of suddenly increasing their speed, power, or force during play. An explosive athlete or player can produce maximum force in a very short amount of time, such as in sprinting, jumping, or changing direction.

Key characteristics in a dictionary context include:

  • Sudden Acceleration: The ability to go from a standstill (or slow speed) to maximum speed in a fraction of a second.
  • Powerful Movements: Generating high power (force (\times ) velocity) rapidly, such as in Olympic lifting, boxing, or a soccer kick.
  • Rapid Change of Direction: Changing direction instantly, as seen in basketball or soccer.
  • “First Step” Quickness: The speed and power shown in the first few steps of a sprint or a movement.

Yep, only my head. Apparently AI draws upon information, that is in my head, and appears nowhere else in the world. I think I should start charging royalties for this.

The AI is literally defining power. Maximum force in a short amount of time.

Stringer and Robey together

What could have been we turfed Jake for Perkins lols

Was your prompt “describe the physical characteristics of Jake Stringer”? If so, it’s spot on.

Without Perkins we wouldn’t have had Robey

Upgrade on Darcy “the fumbler” Parish: give him games.!

Well firstly, maximum force in a short amount of time is not the literal definition of power. But you got the literal definition earlier, so I will let that go.

And no, it is referencing maximum speed much moreso than power. There are very few references to force, and it constantly references maximum speed/minimal time. With maximum speed, will come high power too no doubt, but that is not power.

What are the origins of the term explosive? It is derived from an explosion, obviously. Something that happens, boom, in an instant, and then it is over. And in that instant everything that was once there, has got the ■■■■ out of there, real quick. It is about speed. That’s how analogies work.

“An explosive athlete or player can produce maximum force in a very short amount of time”

This is power. Power is not producing a lot of force slowly, it’s doing it quickly. That’s why Stringer is explosive/powerful athlete and someone like Will Brodie is not.

Lmao the explosion analogy has just as much to do with the force it produces as well the speed at which it occurs. Power.

I was explosive last night.

Jake stringer burner confirmed I fkn knew it

Force and the speed at which that force occurs have an inverse relationship.

  • Maximum force occurs at slower speeds. Peter Wright lives here.
  • Maximum speed occurs at lower force outputs. Andy Lovett lives here, and it is frustrating I can’t reference a current EFC player for this.
  • Maximum Power occurs in the sweet spot in the middle. Stringer and Robey are here.

We both agree on that much, and that’s ultimately more relevant on a football forum.

An explosion, is very much in the second category. Apparently we don’t agree on that, but that is not so important on a football forum. So we can move on.

I think I’ve enjoyed watching jake the most of any player since hirdy. jobe was awesome in a different way. not so explosive, dare I say.
