Went to a footy panel show last week (Mark Allen, Mark Robinson, David Schwarz) and one of the questions from the audience was who is the āworst blokeā in the football media to work withā¦
Robinson paused and said before answering, āEverybody is going to think this is because heās now co-hosting AFL 360 instead of me, but this has been common knowledge well before this happened, but Garry Lyon is the worst bloke youād ever want to meet or work withā - ouch.
Also said Gerard Whateley knifed him behind the scenes to get rid of him. The day he found out he was sacked he called Gerard (he admitted their working relationship hadnāt been good for several years ā¦ this wouldnāt surprise anyone) and Gerard went full denial mode but had found out since it was all him.
On a side note, Nate Caddyās family were there (the function). Nate, the playing list and club in general are āraptā Stringer has left. Make what you want of that.

To me, Garry Lyon has never come across as a particularly likeable person, so hearing that is no surprise. And to be honest, the farewell that Gerard gave Robbo on 360 when it was announced he wasnāt continuing was extremely insincere. Never been a fan of Robbo and I wanted him off the show for years, but that doesnāt stop him from having an opinion on those issues.

I mean, Melbourne have lost every game. What is there to day about us in beating them? North beat them by 10 goals and they still look like an average team at best.
Iād say a TV show co-host who turned up late and couldnāt articulate anything would be a pretty bad person to work with.
