Q: Why do they say the L when saying Abbey HoLmes yet they call the Geelong player Max Homes. I don’t get it.
Kills me when JB says “Abbey Holllms”.
Also kills me when he says “kicks it up the chimney” and “sticks it inside 50”

It’s one step above A Bentick.

SWSNBN lying. What

She has been doing a lot of that, even more than normal, which is a fair amount anyway. However, I think what has substantially changed is that the players are now calling it out and saying it is a straight up lie.
Not just to her, but other media types too.

It was a straight out lie and the Crows are filthy over it. Crows have been into NWM for a long time so were pretty much blindsided by her story

Unbelievably she is now doubling down saying that NMW did say it, implying that he is lying. I’m really hoping this might be her final stuff up.

It’s a version of cash for comment. She gets paid per clickbait.
A recent one was explained away with ‘It’s my belief’

If so, dishonest and disgraceful.

My sources say….

Someone close to the club….

Well according to this mast head…

Sources close to the club who did not want to be named so they could speak freely = someone wrote it on a public toilet wall.

Do you think they take it further

Probably not but they own the media over here so they will file that one away for a later date

does kind of make sense given the amount of fines the players get.

hope more players or ex players speak out.

and would be hard to find any afl fan that likes her.

First question from her co-hosts should be, have you picked up the phone and apologised to Tex?

Agreed.

I was going to go the other way on Eddie’s comments. His stance on drugs is actively harmful and cringe as it shows he has no idea what he’s talking about. It’s old world, boomer-generation drug war rhetoric where some people think the “just say no” and “don’t do drugs” and “zero tolerance” policies actually work.

It might sound really clever/sound for people who already don’t do drugs but that’s kind of the problem. These policies have been in place throughout society for going on a century now… how effective has it been at curbing drug use, particularly amongst young, less-than-educated, highly social/popular men with a lot of free time and money? Completely ineffective.

I understand his/everybody’s frustrations with players completely rorting the system (e.g. “oh my mental health is really bad which is why I got on the packets on Saturday night” or “I have a headache so I’m mysteriously not coming into training on the day the tests are being done”), I can understand that makes a mockery of the testing system, but we need to go back to first principles, assess whether “testing illicit drugs out of the game” actually worsk, and employ an evidence-based approach to the unavoidable reality of drug use. This would apply equally to society as a whole, not just footy. And the realities of how that might look would not be well received by the likes of Eddie. The reality though, is as easy as it is, “I’m sick of drugs and we should just get rid of them all” is not helpful at all, because it’s just not feasible.

I think his big rant on this was the tipping point where I got back off the ride with Eddie. Kind of sick of him using FC as his platform to influence the discourse/direction of the game so much.

I did a Clinical Sciences degree and several Anatomy units and can confirm I never encountered anything called a LABORARE in the shoulder.

Sounds like the carnt has a guide dog lodged in there that he hurt.

Now look, I’m guessing he’s talking about a Labrum but yeah. Either Finn Callaghan had told Daniel Garb it was a laborare and he’s taken that as gospel and gone to print with it or Daniel has just gone rogue.

It might have been the system that transferred the recording onto paper and it was how the person pronounced it, “Laborum” and the system picked it up and the closest word it could find was the Latin word laborare. But that’s just me taking a guess.
