A thread about rain and no other things

Do you put anti-freeze in the water for the wipers?
Also sometimes it’s not a bad idea to heat up the front and rear windows before driving off into the cold.

Vodka in the washer tank. Doesn’t freeze, and at least if you get stuck in the snow you can get ■■■■■■ waiting for it to thaw.

God no, I wish I was that funny. Pinched it from the wonderful Stewart Francis, the genius of one-liners.

If it is not raining in Port Fairy the wind is trying to blow your house down.

I’ve spent the whole day looking for big puddles to drive through with my 5 yo daughter.
It’s been awesome.

It is a smidge blowy…but I heard there was a bit of a breeze in Melbourne yesterday.

Actually Al, just after I posted that jibe, the wind and rain came howling into the Marsh.

Heaviest rain for 30 minutes we have had in years.

Nearly posted that myself earlier, … along with the forecast for our area, just for the lol’s, … as “A few Showers later”, … (They’ve changed it now)

Been raining all day down here, but only 2.8mm since 9am.

I drove into Warrnambool this arvo and there’s standing water everywhere.

There’s a stormwater pond at the bottom of the street and that is full up to ■■■■■’s bow.

Thanks for that Eric.

Well I’m in Kew and the radar is all blue, red and yellow, but we have had ■■■■ all.

Did you get left behind?
I thought they had closed Willsmere.

*sorry, couldn’t help myself

Some residents stayed. In much nicer accommodation. :slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face:

This latest downpour should register in rain gauge.

As Tom Gleeson would say, it’s raining HARD!!!

Edit…Eric Olthwaite says 6.0mm, but no black pudding

And I’ve got to put my Spear and Jackon No 3 shovel away…next to the other one.

Yep do all that, except for the anti freeze bit.
Honestly it’s like Fargo down here sometimes

Rain band about to hit Portland from the west. About 5.30 here, I’d say.

Just going to get our game in before the maelstrom arrives.

We’re in for a horrid weekend.

Cherry blossoms are well and truly out.
Seems a little early?

Warmest July on record in many places around the World, . including Qld.

IIRC, … Vics 3rd warmest ever, … and driest for 2 decades.

I was just saying to a neighbor a day ago that it’s been quite warm in between the freezing Southerly blasts, with a handful of 3 day stretches of no heater/fire use at all.
