A SPORTSWEAR company signed by St Kilda a week ago has gone into receivership.

Apparel supplier BLK, which has deals with six AFL clubs, has officially informed the AFL it has gone into receivership, jeopardising all merchandise and sponsorship agreements.

An extract from the ASIC database reveals World Rugby Specialists, the parent company of BLK Sports, has been placed under external administration.

The AFL confirmed to the Herald Sun it was gaining more information. St Kilda has also been informed of the development.

“The AFL is aware that BLK has gone into receivership,” an AFL spokesman said.

“Our commercial/licensing departments are in the process of gathering as much information as they can from the receivers to understand the implications for those clubs in the competition that have a relationship with the company for 2017.

“We have six clubs that will be affected in some form.”

BLK has deals with Adelaide, Brisbane Lions, Richmond, Gold Coast, GWS Giants and St Kilda.

The clubs are still working through the ramifications, with BLK supplying playing and training gear as well as cash sponsorships.

At least one club contacted by the Herald Sun is rapidly searching for a new sponsor to replace BLK.

The news is a particular blow to the Saints, who proudly announced their BLK deal on November 9.

Under the three-year contract the company would have provided on and off-field apparel for players and officials plus supporter merchandise.

“We are delighted to have BLK on board as the Saints’ official sporting apparel partner in 2017 and beyond,” St Kilda chief commercial officer Christine Finnigan said last week.

“The quality sports apparel BLK produces will play an important role in helping our team to achieve their best performance on the field and training track.”

BLK also has agreements with a bevvy of local sporting clubs.

The Saints are taking pre-orders on their website for BLK guernseys for 2017.

EFC should buy BLK

Its OK for those aesthetes on here to comment on the look of the strip.
But its whats underneath that really matters. Will Skins help us to avoid hammy twangs ?
Thats most important.

Heres what they claim

Increases venous return
reduces exercise induced muscle damage (EIMD)
accelerates recovery processes
removes lactic acid faster
increases strength and power
improves endurance
increases muscle oxygenation
improves body temperature control
reduces in-flight ankle oedema

Sounds like its a better way to “accelerate recovery processes” than some other methods I have heard about.

Have we cleared Skins with WADA?

Sure check it with WADA but make sure you check it through the Unwashed media first eg Cro-wine , Spit the dummy Bartlett and so on .

There is a sports apparel store on the corner of Little Collins and Elizabeth St in the city. They have the new EFC ISC gear. Looking at it in person I’m extremely impressed by the quality, especially the guernsey. The 2015-16 Adidas jumpers were very lightweight and easy to tear, the ISC jumpers appear far more robust. The predominately black training tee is a beauty. Will be going to get mine very soon!

This is probably the best most photo I’ve seen so far of a player wearing the new jumper, and I must say, ISC have nailed it. Looks great on Hepp and one’s the players get measured and sized up properly it will be perfect.

can still get the Essendon training singlets from adidas website only $40.

agreed

I like them, mainly because their sizing is so generous that I actually fit into a small (almost)

Unlike the black and red ones, the equality training jumper looks ■■■■ in person. Purple Bombers are a good thing though.

That is honestly one of the worst things I have ever seen.

I think someone mentioned that it looked like a screen saver from the 90’s and they were bang on.

I saw a bloke jump from a nine story building, that was worse.

I think it doesn’t look as bad in the reals

looks like the seats on the old kastoria buses.
