theres those that are right, and weirdodoro cultists
Dodoro is only slightly better at his job than ScoMoās empathy consultant was at his
Things can change quickly with a new List Manager.
A new List manager takes away any sentimental value to players, and theyāll analyse the list without any attachment.
The problem is that it wonāt happen, as Dodoro wields too much political power. He wonāt leave without a fight.
Youāre new here arenāt you?
The biggest issue with Dodoros recruiting and list management is the complete hit or bust nature of the picks. We seem to find really good players, not enough, but we also bust a lot too, but where are the just good footballers. The 7-8 in each team that play a role week in week out, donāt make too many mistakes and make the team work.
The list of busted first and second round players that should be serviceable for years are non existent. For me, this is biggest failure he has. As any list manager can hit a top picks and you would with the number of top picks he has had. But the ones that make every pick count are the good list managers, and we certainly never have donāt that.
Yep. Was talking about this at the VFL with my brother yesterday. Iād like to see a stat comparison of the amount of players Dodo has picked that have literally never played an AFL game (or say, less than 10).
Cian McBride is an example. Iām sure heās a nice bloke but heās been on the list for years and was invisible yesterday, and that was at VFL level. What are we doing? Our list has become his Sportsbet account, he loves to gamble on players that could be anything, and weāre suffering as a result.
Thanks for the info. I was not aware of the 2nd vote.
I travelled through draft guru to compare the number of 150 plus gamers heās selected to some of the more successful sides. We didnāt compare well.
A comparison of how many sub 20 game players heās selected would be interesting too.
Can you post stats please?
It should be in this thread somewhere I think
Found it. This initial post was wrong, it was a few more than 9. If you read the thread from there I think youāll see the comparisons I did.
Yep my bro mentioned the 150 game stat to me. Thereās just so many who never/barely get a run at all.
Lachlan Johnson
Alastair Lord (no minutes sun doesnāt count)
Cian McBride
Noah Gown
Josh Eyre
Cody Brand
Tom Jok (rookie)
Garrett McDonagh
Jordan Houlahan
Trent Mynott (rookie)
Josh Begley (got a few games in)
Kobe Mutch
Yestin Eades
Alex Morgan
Will Hams (played a few)
This is just from 2015 onwards. It seems like a lot, I wonder how it stacks up to other sides. And the type of player - Kobe Mutch as an example. I watched a solidly build Swans reserves team destroy us on the weekend. Boys v Men stuff and weāre drafting these skinny kids. Itās unbelievable.
Edit: and might I add, these players canāt/barely get a game in teams that have not been challenging or even close.
Plus cahill
Would love to know who are in the photos he has hidden away. Can be only explanation
He picks a few duds, picks zero stars/top line difference makers and a lot of AFL standard guys who are just good enough to keep us mid table.
He needs to go.
In my perfect world, weād get a new LM team who come in and gut the list as much as possible, really change things. If it meant a few years of serious pain then so be it, but it could also make us better, putting faith into Baldwin, Tsatas, Davey, Davey, Bryan, Perkins, Voss, Hobbs, Caldwell, Martin, Durham, Cox, Reid, Hayes Massimo, Tex and Hunter could be fun.
Weād likely miss finals and likely finish bottom 4, but imo itās better than riding along in mid table wilderness.
I blame Dodoro for not having the foresight to draft Harley Reidās father and using his influence to get him 100 games at the club.
Surely, this lack of forward thinking and proactive list management canāt be tolerated.
How good is our list looking, canāt even beat the worst team in the competition since Fitzroy
bigger fraud than everyone at their first job
Thanks Dodoro, great list. Canāt mark, canāt kick. You have built a high quality side.
