So your āclearā evidence that Dodorro overruled Hird was comments by Hird saying we wanted a ruck and that we didnāt get one, without knowing who made the decision, who our targets were at what points of the draft, ehether we wanted other clubs to take rucks earlier, etc.
Yes, I think youāre a long way from āclear evidenceā and the level of certainty.
What you call clear evidence I would call a hunch. The rucks we wanted may have just gone higher then where we thought they would go or higher then where we valued them.
Would have to make finals and win finals for the next 10 straight years just to even get close to him breaking even with how pathetic he has been so far
You canāt undo poor decisions in the past. That being said, if we did end up finishing top 4, youād have to say he did his job well recently. I donāt think weāll finish top 4 btw.
I dont think you need to be a body language expert to see whatās happening. Bomber paying dodoro absolutely no respect, looks frustrated at him, then dodoro looking a bit disappointed after calling out Zach.
Yeah, I donāt think thereās enough there to nail down who made the call. Would love to have a lip reader interpret it, but knowing Bomber it would probably be complete nonsensical gibberish.
As Iāve always said, I want to see a Dodoro list evolve in a stable environment, surrounded by a high performance culture, supported by a successful development focus and a capable fitness and conditioning dept. I contend that if these elements of a āstrong clubā are in place, the list could then, and only then, thrive. These crucial elements have been missing for at least a decade as instability, crisis, chronic injury and lack of footy investment hurt on field progress.
Now, weāre seeing young players finally being supported and showing meaningful development progress with greater focus and targeted coaching. There are now signs of a robust game style build around pressure. Theyāve stopped stress related injuries and the injury list is manageable. They now have a stable environment and āstandardsā have lifted enormously.
And the results are starting to materialise. As expected.
A long way to go, if they remain focussed and keep building the Club they will achieve success with this group.
They need to address soft tissue injuries, fix the VFL program and further build the footy clubs culture on its current path.
A bottom 4 list some saidā¦ā¦ No itās not. It never was. Work ahead, still lots of improvement. But signs of strong foundations and progress to build from.
