On Smith, I think he’s a valuable part of our midfield rotation. But he ain’t a #1, #2 or even #3 or #4 mid. Doesn’t have to be for the price we paid for him, and given he also contributes forward. But on a night when we were missing 3 of our best extractors, relying on Smith is going to cause you headaches.
I’ve said numerous times that we should have, but @Reboot (I think) has said on here that we weren’t offered it. I don’t think he’s said why. Given where Brisbane was at the time, you could see the AFL pressuring GWS to make the offer only to them.
If we could have been involved in it, we absolutely should have been.
