AFL takes harder line on illicit drug users

How about letting them have a couple of beers here and there, or even better giving them a year off after drafting them so they can find out what life's about and get a few things out of their system, pardon the pun.

I’m mean how do the afl think it works at the moment? you walk in the door at collingwood, just as an example, and you get told first up along with how you can’t take screamers anymore and have to kick backwards, that you basically need next to no fat on you if you want a game. And then, just as an example, a fat heavily tattooed senior player, says “no worries there’s other ways to have fun. come with me to Vegas my son, and I will teach you in the ways of recreational activities. Now cerbutamutamol or however you say it…”

Something’s got to give. The afl don’t give a stuff about player welfare. That’s been proven for three years now.

And screw the they get paid heaps, they’re adults etc. let them figure things at a little bit for 12 months before they start.

Won’t happen though. young guns generate more stupid polo hats for Gil.

Somethings gotta give, so your hopefully tongue in cheek proposal is to send them off for a year long party in the hope they get all the drug taking and partying out of their system, so they can come back from day dot and be model citizens ?
how do you honestly see that working out ?

it’s the same as anywhere really, actions don’t have consequences. Pretty much everyone knows the afl illicit drug policy is as others have said in here more about image protection.
The only thing those idiot afl wankers didn’t factor into any of their plans is the absolute stupidity of players to either allow themselves to be pictured or dumb enough to film and distribute said bad behaviour themselves.

nothing will “give” or break until a current day player does something incredible stupid or dies due to drug taking, only then will they be forced into action as the public outcry will outweigh their communication specialists ability to cover it up.

Mainwarings (sp) death did nothing, cousins acting out did nothing, 5 players being busted in one year has has minimal changes.
So again nothing will drastically change until a big major bad event happens with a current day player.

The rest is just viewpoints on ones outlook on drugs, and that discussion has been done to death on here, can see it spiraling into that sooner rather than later in here.

you were denied toys as a child weren’t you

Man I had the coolest biker mice from Mars toys

If they’re actually serious about this then 20 players will be named next season. Not going to happen.

The guy in the hat along with Mr Cool Ice are my favourite internet celebrities.

Chris Yarren, not good, good luck with your recovery.

I thought he still played for Fark.

Butterss loved coke. Who didn’t see that coming.

Flakey Jakey has joined them a few years too late

There had to be a reason Yarran fell off a cliff with his form, that explains it.

The real question is how much FCFC knew before trading him and if they failed in their duty of care to help him or just said ■■■■ him lolz sucked in Richmond
