Have you not seen the fuss in the last round of the season where it may be good for a given team to lose etc? With extra/reduced points on offer you get more potential for shenanigans.
You simply can’t have bonus game points based on points scored.
Pouring rain at the MCG vs fast track 3km across town to Docklands.
My preference is to limit interchange to 32 or 40. It simply means that you can’t have players flooding the ball as at present. No-one would be fit enough to do it. I’d probably add 2 interchange players too, just so we can get back to having two ruckmen again.
Nobody listens to me.
Can’t believe the AFLPA will still expect players to be paid if they refuse to go to Hubs as they expect it to be treated like players with Mental Health issues (where they still get paid full to be helped working through the health battles).
Pretty sure some of the ‘Mental health issues’ cards are some them trying to dodge drug testing (I am aware there are genuine cases) but if they say "no we don’t want to be away from our partner/kids for 5 weeks) than no.
This is a job and if WCE/Adelaide/Freo/Port were able to do it, then so should Victoria
stuff like that absolutely sickens me. It’s such a slap in the face to people who actually have mental health issues.
It’s because of garbage like this, that when someone actually does have mental health issues and needs time off because of it. Nobody believes them
So now players and required staff who live in Melbourne’s restricted suburbs have to move to a new place by midnight tonight to live otherwise they won’t be able to go to any games in NSW.
At what point does this season, if it hadnt already, become unethical?
All of this for the crap football that is being shown on telly is simply not worth it.
I hope the AFL are paying for said relocation!
This is nonsense upon stilts.
Why are they being allowed to relocate? What’s the point in locking down if you are just going to let people move with no ramifications?
How will taking little souffle bowls with them help?
Are the allowed to go and inspect houses to move into, or has the terrible human by the name of Connor McKenna and his obvious flaunting of the rules mean that privilege has been taken away from them as well?
Lockdown doesn’t start until 11.59 pm
How many people are going to be able to find a new residence and move house since the afternoon of 30 June?
I went outside this morning to find my 1950s Martin Boyd Ramekin sitting on the table with joint butts in it.
The Western Bulldogs, North Melbourne and Essendon all have multiple players/staff living in these areas. North Melbourne captain Jack Ziebell was one of those who had to move on Wednesday. The club organised an Airbnb on the other side of the city for the skipper to move into temporarily.
Farcical
Sounds like a salary cap breach to me.
You are still allowed to go to work. Therefore I hope none of our players have moved - it likely means we avoid a trip to Sydney to play GWS.
And you don’t remember how that happened?
Insert Sidebottom reference.
If only they had some sort of family they could visit to “host” them!
So we are in the part of the cycle where “the game is broke”? I look forward to the AFL proposing some rule changes for discussion, ex AFL greats slamming said rule changes, outraged talkback callers saying “leave the game alone and let the coaches work it out” and the AFL watering down changes and introducing some meaningless rule tweak in response.
Is there any other sport in the world that’s coming back after COCID that has Mickey Mouse rule changes in place? Reduced game time being the obvious one?
The sooner this farcical season is knocked on the head, the better.
It’s an absolute farking circus…
