That has happened plenty of times. How often is a free paid and the players keep on going and at times teams score but the ball is brought back to where the free is paid? Also happens in soccer with their reviews and play is stopped if it needs to. It is more important to get it right then get it done quickly for optics.

I don’t recall play being called back for anything that’s more than 10 seconds.
And the ones that are late are met with ‘why was that so late?’
Speaking of soccer, if an advantage is being called, can we please stop blowing tte bloody whistle. This bothers me more than anything. If it’s obvious just yell advantage and let the game go.

Snicko (“Edge” in the AFL) was available, but it’s up to the umpire(s) whether they call for a review on what they believe was a behind (goals are all reviewed, behinds are not unless specifically called for,) and then it’s up to ARC whether or not they use Edge.

So in order for them to know whether to take the advantage, they need to blow the whistle.
Plus us level headed fans grow more and more annoyed at free kicks not being paid.
Otherwise, allow them to take the advantage and bring it back if it doesn’t come off.
But that’ll be just as annoying. Especially for fans.
Think it was established that it’s best to blow the whistle on a free kick, than just let play go on.

And Fremantle somehow went seven years from 2010 without being drawn to face Essendon in Melbourne.
In that 16-year span, Carlton has had the double-up trip to Perth nine times. Fellow power clubs Essendon and Geelong have done the double eight times, as have the Saints.
At the other end of the scale, Sydney has had just two.
As for Collingwood?
They haven’t done it at all.
GTFOOH with that crap.
Adelaide had their finals aspirations destroyed by a demonstrably wrong decision.
It’s warped the bottom end of the eight.
Not just with the Adelaide loss, but with the Sydney win.
It’s a massive deal for Adelaide.
