Ex-AFLW #7 - Bella “Fresh Princess” Ayre

Brutal big lump of a key position player. Previous AFLW Rising Star winner, took time off before joining Old Xavs in 2021 and our VFLW team this year.

Has played back all but one quarter this year: she kicked 2.1 in that other quarter that she spent at FF.

Sometimes scary but always entertaining to watch.

My phone auto-completes “Welcome to Essendon” by now.

Deleted above post, but will replace with - loves dogs. Big fluffy white dogs. Probably lots of other dogs too.

I hope she makes an exception for bulldogs

Are you aware that her team magnet is ‘F Princess’? Because if you weren’t, you are now.

No, but that is gold!

Full credit to my co-caller Brent Sternberg for coming up with that one!

From the EFC article:

Adding more AFLW experience to the Bombers’ inaugural side is Ayre, who has played five VFLW games this year, averaging 13.8 disposals, 7.8 kicks and 2.6 marks.

Ayre played 12 AFLW games for Carlton and Brisbane between 2017-19 before retiring to explore career opportunities away from football.

After three years away from the game, Ayre is ready to step back up to AFLW level.
