Incredible debut by Georgia given the ACL. Great game girls, well done.

I reckon 3 of my top 5 bombers are now AFLW players.

You wouldn’t have known that during the fourth quarter.

I’ve been given horrendous homework by Tamsin Crook: identify the youngest player to 50 VFLW games.

I didn’t get to watch the game. Only caught bits and pieces on tv in the background.
Glad we got the win.

Both our women’s teams are good close units.
Good to get the first game out of the way.

Looking forward to getting back to Windy Hill next week.

That was brilliant. The usual suspects played their hearts out but the big surprise for me was how well Nanscawen slotted back in. I don’t think she’s played at this level for four or five years and she was the consummate inside mid, hunting the ball with repeat efforts. And every time she touched it she managed to play it to our advantage, often with little taps which don’t get a stat. Bonnie and Maddy led from the front.

Hard to believe Bannister only had a handful of touches, I thought she was excellent.

Maddy was hard at it but seemed to turn it over a bit too

Good to see Amber Clarke get some decent possessions.
Paige Scott will break open games by the end of the season. She gets to the right spots. Just needs to get her finishing right.
Just a strong bodied athlete with class.
Both are still young and developing.

The women seem to go in harder, and play rougher than the men. They seem to grab other players and sling them away/to the ground a lot more than is done in the mens game, where a free would be paid for that. They go to ground far more often than the men, who seem to be trained to keep their feet.

I was amazed when Maddie came back on, I expected her to be sent off the the Epworth given the agony she was in.

They are tough babes. Jeez if I was married to one of them, my most common response would probably be, “yep honey, I will do it straight away”.
