One thing about Akermanis is that he is no yes man and he says what he thinks, although at times it seems his mouth is ten steps ahead of his thoughts.
It’s got him kicked out of 2 clubs however and coaching is pretty much being a yes man to a degree.
If the coach asks you to implement his gameplan and aker turns around and says nah i’m gonna teach you how to play the way i want, which we know would be the case, it’s pointless having him.
Worsfold having him as a friend is one thing, having him work UNDER you is another thing seperately and i hope for dear life Aker is in no way linked to the club beyond his friendship with the coach.
Said it when we were chasing him as a player and i’ll say it again, he’s a cancer to any club he goes to and it’ll be a disastrous mistake to have him.
Causing a bit of a stir up here on the border. The supporters of other teams are hilarious about him joining the Bombers - the rubbish being thrown is equal to the Asaga era.
Corowa Rutherglen aren’t laughing…
Been torn to shreds… may be other clubs not far behind! Over to the O&M Board…
What’s happened to the Roos?
Same old story. Lack of money therefore no ability to attract big name coach therefore player exodus. They are struggling for numbers. Big time. Concern is that they won’t be able to field a seconds next year. Akermanis has actually made some pretty valid points regarding the O&M comp.
Doesn’t mean he can coach. Blind Freddy knows what’s wrong with the O&M.

They need to get the Houlihan and Longmire clans back around that $hit. & Surely, Sheedy’s boy Henneman has some clout
Too many teams in the Rutherglen area for the population. One of them has to go.
As for Henneman: ■■■■■■ good butcher; always got my meat from him when I was at Uncle Toby’s.
Jason “Just for Men” Akermanis ponders his next move in the box, but the kid is bored stiff. ****
North Albury coach Jason Akermanis to meet Essendon next week By BRETT KOHLHAGEN Nov. 11, 2015, 10:56 a.m
NORTH Albury coach Jason Akermanis will know within the next fortnight if he has secured a development role with Essendon.
Akermanis will meet with the Bombers next Wednesday as he pursues his dream of breaking into AFL coaching ranks.
“It was always the plan (AFL) if I liked coaching,” Akermanis said.
“We have helped lift North out of the mire and got them back on track
“I have always told Mark (Cronin) and the assistant coaches and the board when I met with them what we had planned.
“There have been no surprises.
“Obviously the boys and Mark don’t want me to go but they realise it’s a matter of time whether it’s this year or next year that I’ll be moving up to the AFL.”
Essendon appointed John Worsfold’s premiership teammate Guy McKenna as an assistant coach last week.
His signing and the potential move of Akermanis has been delayed with the Bombers wanting to follow a strict process given their recent troubles.
“I hope to know by next Friday,” he said.
“I have to move house anyway so I will move around the corner or go back to Melbourne.”
The Brownlow medallist said he was optimistic about his chances of joining Essendon.
“There is no doubt I’m the best qualified with everything I have done,” he said.
“I don’t just have three years of coaching, I have teaching components as well.”
**** Thats my take on it.
I’ll say one thing for him. He never did suffer from a lack of confidence.

Would hope none of our coaches are yes men. Hope they are all confidant enough to speak their minds and raise any question they may have about a game plan or a process. Cant think of any successful organisation that doesnt encourage agitation.
Speaking to a bloke at cricket on the weekend.(We played against North Albury) The board is split on Aker. Half the North Albury board are hoping he gets the Essendon job so they don’t have to sack him. The other half want him to stay because of his profile/contacts etc.
