Sheedy has released a statement saying he voted for Davis Shaw as CEO as he felt that David should be appointed because of the contribution made to Essendon by David and his family over three decades. When the Board pointed out David wasn’t a candidate- Sheeds said “I don’t give a $hit what you outsiders think, this is my club. I want the supporters to know I voted for David Shaw because he is an Essendon person and if you don’t like it you can all get stuffed” …….Sheedy also went on to say “John Quinn should be head of fitness and Graeme McMahon should be appointed president of the club” …….when it was pointed out that Graeme McMahon had in fact passed away, Sheeds said “He could do the job with his eyes closed”

Maybe he will resign from his other positions.
He will be CEO of a club that has women teams and staff. He could publicly distance himself from that pastor or take steps to have him removed.
Otherwise, it’s uncomfortable.
The club puts effort into acceptability of diversity, which doesn’t prevent players from holding to their own religious precepts.

It’s a slippery slope when peoples personal beliefs and faith are brought in to question and meshed with their ability to perform their assigned role.

The business of a footy club is footy. A footy decision is a business decision. ‘Do we give Jack Bowes $850k?’ is a business question as well as a footy question. The two arms can’t be separated.
