You and I share a lot of common ground on this sort of stuff.
With literally one or two exceptions, our over 25’s are all tradable/delistable. It would be so satisfying telling the flakes to hit the road but then what?
We then run the risk of sending out possibly the youngest squad of all time. How would you negotiate this problem?
The EPL ■■■■■■ all over AFL in terms of most things. Im a bit lost to footy, provably because of the saga.
I fell in love with Liverpool the team, then the club and then the whole point within two years. Even amongst all the money, all the transfers, take overs, the club retains its identity through its connection with the city and its people. All though a little different, its response to Hillsborough ensured it stayed connected to its identity. It could have gone either way.
I’ve never been to Liverpool, but it doesn’t take long to figure it out.
Essendon have lost its point. So corporatised it doesn’t even bother anymore. It hasn’t figured it’s people out.
Nah, the Board is the Board, it is like when we blame Government for things, a new Government is responsible for all the sins of the past ones, and need to fix them.
Which is totally fair and in truth, we’d probably win roughly the same amount of games with the senior hacks. Those that oppose the idea make a reasonable point when they say that ongoing losses might ruin the kids, though.
It’s definitely possible, and would have been the case under Scott.
I think with the right off field support and program you have the potential to grow a galvanised group that have been through the tough times together and value more than anything never going back there.
They have nothing to learn from the current senior crop.
keep coming back to the merrett non-trade, ok you’ve shown swagger, we’re still behind on our rebuild, we’re playing a player that doesn’t want to be here and is actively sabotaging our efforts. good stuff welsh. go buy some land and ■■■■ off
It’s a freaking boys club, it always has been. Solly getting the interim coaching gig stinks of this. Being elected as a board member by our delusional supporter base that still thinks in the past, gets parachuted to be a line coach and now becomes the interim. Now he’s being talked as a potential coaching candidate.
Not that I wanted him to, but Stanton has been a line coach for some years and yet he wasn’t given the interim gig, yet solly in his first year back in afl coaching is given it. It all ■■■■■■■ stinks
