His wife was catering.
You spent the time to do such a long post which actually didn’t say much,.
Poll a mob of Bomber supporters and you will get a multitude of reasons why we are a failure. Coach ultimate job is to win a flag, and none of us care how it is achieved.
Sometimes it is just the players. Come follow Leicester City. They keep replacing the coach, but not the players, and keep getting the same result.
Nothing is going to change until we move some more of the core group and plodders on. “You don’t like defending? Here’s your papers”
Yep, we’re learning the hard way that the most important trait in footy isn’t kicking, finding the ball or speed.
It’s work rate. Two way running. Getting to contests. Tackling. All the stuff that makes you harder to play against more than any other factor.
Work rate ahead of the ball to give leads is a massive struggle for us. Our players rarely have easy chains of kicks to make to get it forward
Which one of the three is the biggest problem:
- The lack of movement by the forwards in the front 50 and/or inadequate leading patterns and not working hard enough.
- Not lowering the head/lack of vision and bombing of the ball into the forward line by on ballers and high forwards into the forward 50.
- Inadequate coaching/direction.
Obviously there will be some combination, but is it predominantly one more than the others?
All need fixing, leaving even one unaddressed will see us continue as is.
- Stagnant ball movement off half back, with defenders continually kicking the ball to dead ends….. and obsessed with about padding their ‘disposal efficiency’ stats.
Also confidence/trust in team mates
Make 2-3 leads that don’t get honoured, and guys only go half as hard for the next one. (And vice versa, if the mids look up and don’t see anyone presenting, they stagnate and look sideways)
Soooo no cloke now? Replacements??
Are we sure that’s right though?
He still has listed on his profiles both personal and professional that he is Dev Coach at EFC.
Ah yes the profiles page…
Well, his LinkedIn and Insta.
Ah right, soz read that as the club website profiles pg
So we’re down a midfield coach, a development coach & IF Ken comes it won’t be until next year.
Not ideal. Would like to see us bring in someone experienced to assist.
It’s fine, our development programs are humming. Losing development coaches is no big deal.
Our hair tests are just about best in class
Kind of feels you can’t have one without the other. If you’re trying to build and develop your own, kind of need someone to A) oversee it & B) coach them on day to day.
Im likely overreacting to day 1 (one) of pre season, but I think it’s important to have some direction on these vacancies soon.
You might have missed my sarcasm
