This is the perfect summary. I was right into it during the 1st. It went downhill fast from there.
Yes! I love those movies
Still a Brendan Fraser fan til this day because of those movies
We finally got around to watching The Fantastic Four: First Steps on Disney+ last night and I have to say, I was underwhelmed. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t good either. Aside from the film’s aesthetic – which was great – it left me cold.
Yeah, bit of nothing, still better than a heap of this dross and largely because the design team and art direction were clearly given rein to go full into the retro futurism aesthetic. Almost feels like the last few years, from a writing perspective as well as the cgi of everything, has just been preparing audiences for full AI scripting. Soulless stuff, even a baby in peril and a mother’s love trope couldn’t elicit a feeling. Cool pad though.
Agree with all your points. To me, they played it ultra safe and the result was a perfectly average film. Marvel needed a home run, but they didn’t get it based on its box office performance.
Some people probably wouldn’t have even noticed, but one aspect that really bothered me – so much so that it took me out of the film – was the baby. Are we seriously supposed to believe that by the time Galactus reached Earth, this baby was only two or three months old? Does that baby look anywhere near a newborn? It’s at least six months old.
I assumed because it was god baby or something like that it had conveniently accelerated growth. A film about the Silver Surfers would be of interest to me but they’d go the sentimental route no doubt.
Hollywood has missed him over the years imo was wrapt for him when he made his comeback to acting
Wonder if he will get back into shape to play Rick was a physical role
Back to the future turned 40 this year anyone going to watch it in cinemas?
Never seen it in theatres will go tomorrow
This looks fantastic
I watched FIrst Cow last night on SBS. It wasn’t at all what I expected, which was some kind of cute comedy. It’s not really funny at all. Slow to get going, and I was searching (without success) for a the subtitle button because a lot of the dialogue was very indistinct, but I stuck with it and was rewarded. There’s a prologue set in the present day, which has a significance that you don’t realise until the very end, but the movie is otherwise set in late 19th century rural Oregon, where life was very hard. The principal characters are a cook, called Cookie, and a Chinese man, who meet and become friends. There’s only one cow in the district, and they concoct a plan to steal milk from the cow and use it to make cakes that they can sell in the nearby town. This goes very well for a while. It’s directed by Kelly Reichardt, and the main stars are John Magaro as Cookie and Orion Lee as King-Lu, his Chinese friend. Toby Jones plays the owner of the cow.
It’s good. 8/10.
Hoyts’ new SCREENX.
Anyone been ?
Any good ?
Thought it was awesome in a crowded cinema.
where comedies should be watched.
What are you talking about? Neeson and Anderson were brilliant.
The dialogue was constant jokes.
Wonder if they’re gunna even touch on the fact that he’s a kiddy diddler?
Agree.
He’s a disgrace.
People happy to turn a blind eye to his treatment of kids
“Jokes”.
It was Farking awful. I’ve seen diseases funnier than the writing in that movie.
I think they will how far they go remains to be seen don’t think they can completely gloss over it.
Whiplash 2014
8.5/10
An up and coming musician trying to get into a top school band is abused to breaking point. He has to decide to push through or throw it all away.
I really enjoyed this, particularly as it looks like the main actor can actually play.
Well worth the watch, Oscar winning performances.
they absolutely wont, his family are as zealous as marvin gaye’s
