August 19 - Gold Coast vs Essendon travel thread

We normally take a taxi to the game and a bus home. Buses are free after the game, and take you back to the main strip

Thanks.

Last year we caught the G-Link to Broadbeach South stop and then got the shuttle bus. Was all free and pretty handy. For memory the shuttle buses from Broadbeach South start about 2 hours before the start of the game and go for a hour after it finishes

THE WORST STADIUM AUSTRALIA, for this reason alone then plenty more. They wonder why no one shows up because no one can get in or out of the ■■■■ hole.

I Twitter’d them to ask, they do have the $250 per head cocktail function, almost as good as the time they never showed up for practice on the gold coast, only beaten by the “member function” in brisbane a few years ago that virtually managed to out do the saga in one night.

Would be good to outnumber them for supporters in a game so far from home.

Have to disagree. Sure it’s not ideal transport wise but it’s s lovely stadium to watch footy.

Yep, very good stadium to watch football at.
Transport wasn’t a big deal either, sure it’s a little out of the way but the transport was free and fast so no issue for me

I rang the Club - they said no open training. :frowning:

It may have changed, but 2? years ago, If you get there early and he weather is decent, there’s a ‘beer garden’ just near the entrance, grass, bean bags big screen and maybe even a DJ?

It’s a bit bizarre to be honest, but was ok for catching up with some people.

Oh, and please don’t barrack too hard or loud, the locals won’t know what the hell you’re doing.

Park at Pacific Fair, bus to game, watch us lose, hate the Gold coast for existing.

It’s the worst road trip in the AFL. And that includes western Sydney.

If coming from Brissy or north get train to Nerang station or park at the station surrounding streets and free bus to and from the ground, works well.

No Gaz so that’s a plus.

Means we’ll lose by more.

If your going from South Brisbane, you can Park at Nerang train station and get a bus as already suggested. You can also catch the express train from Coopers Plains, Loganlea or Beenleigh to Nerang (free with game ticket). then get the bus from the train station.

If your looking for a feed/drink park at Helensvale and hit this place http://nightquarter.com.au
