Australian Policies -- 2026, and we have no Shadow Cabinet

You don’t have to join me. Ryan gives regular…updates on her socials. I watch them occasionally and she strikes me as incredibly measured and sensible and competent.
And I’ve never heard her say a damn thing that doesn’t align with my values.

The Federal ALP are giving a very good impersonation of the Baillieu Government at the moment.

Reality is if Voters had voted for Bill Shorten in 2019 we would have had a better tax system, more environmental controls and a better NDIS. And perhaps back in the day if Voters had not deserted Gough in 1977 we would own anll our natural resources, and even later if Voters had supported Bob Brown life would be better.

My view is that mining and corporations influence is overrated, it is Media that controls most of the narrative, and all politicians are just too pragmatic about staying in power. Generally, Voters are driven by the negative, and rarely think hard on their voting choice,

It’s a shame that it was an election campaign only succeeded in crapness by Peter Dutton, then, isn’t it.

Where is the option for “Yes: he is part of the reason the liberals are where they are today”?

10% + 88% + 3% = 101%

Who voted more than once???

Dodgy Liberals are at it again.

Good point, bring the crazy moron back in

Ashby has always been a poisonous piece of crap.

His dealings with Peter Slipper and then the NRA stuff…very dodgy.

Coal-ition who?

In line with the broad expectations for how this count will go, the electoral commission is tonight counting preferences between independent Michelle Milthorpe and One Nation’s David Farley.

They’re dead. Close ‘em down.

The first votes have been counted and reported from Rankins Springs and Burrumbuttock.

These are small, rural booths so we should be careful about reading too much into these figures.

But they show One Nation’s David Farley with around 56 per cent of the vote and independent candidate Michelle Milthorpe in second with just over 14 per cent.

The Liberals have only around 6 per cent, which is an almost 40 per cent swing against them since 2025.

One Nation absolutely ■■■■■■■■ it in in Farrer. No surprise really with the result with recent events but it blows me away having lived in that region that it’s no longer an LNP seat. Staggering tbh.

Tally Room is here:

After 43% of votes counted, the Libs are hovering around 9% - a drop of 33%

The Nats (who didn’t run last time) are at around 10%.

Combine the two and the LNP are at around 20%.

ON are up 35%, so they’ve picked up about 22-23% from the LNP and the other 10-12% from the ALP (not running this time) and others.

Hopefully, in less than six months.
