Interesting little article here - basically the US claiming credit for effectively ordering Albanese to appoint the antisemitism envoy.
Source is an American Jewish news outlet, who sees this as a good thing, rather than a thuggish interference with the domestic affairs of an ally.

The theme across all the polls is that One Nation is dropping further & further, after Bogan Karen butchered her press gallery address.
And it’s gonna get worse this week, when she’s publicly interacting with alleged Nazis on national tv.
New figures for preferred leader in Victoria for the November election show the Libs Jess, on 43% and Jacinta on 24%. So I guess the ALP are hoping for a “true believer” victory. About the only way they will win that is if the alternative partys cannot hold themselves together long enough to agree on preference sharing and avoid fighting at cross purposes. Hanson needs to avoid disasters like press club lunches, lest she destroy what little credibility her party has.
I am interested to hear from some ALP strategy wise folk on here how the strategy of sacrificing spending on marginal seats and concentrating on core seats is anything other than circling the wagons and cutting losses of core MLAs.

Yes, I remember those days, different wording, but he is right.
Its no longer applicable as only about one person in 3 in Australia admits to having a religion, and the one in 3 left cannot agree on whether there is 1 god, multiple gods , or if there is a god at all.
As for right now, well the next census form makes answers to religion questions optional.
Back in the 1960s Australia had a Queen as Head of State. I should have thought he would know that

In my decades of elections, various campaigns strategy has been used with mixed results.
Every election Labor concentrates on winning seats, whether it is viewed as marginal or not.
Most money always goes into State wide campaign, and over the past four State elections phone banking has been widely used cost effectively.
Cost of running a local campaign in say Melton is probably $50,000 and this has been raised by local team, with the AWU being a major contributor. In my seat of Eureka, we will spend about $30,000 again all raised locally, with minor union contributions through Ballarat Trades Hall.
I am never confident of winning anything, but as the election gets closer the trend will be more apparent and my favorite Pollster says Labor will get returned with a small majority, it could even be on Greens and One Nation preferences. We will know more by end September, until then it is all guesswork.
