Australian Policies -- from 2025 Federal election

It IS lazy for Xers to blame “Boomers”. I can’t find data for Australia but it looks like Gen X voted in Trump:

I think that was an army camp in WW2 (Leonski murdered women from there)
Then the Olympic Village
Then a very dodgy Commission village

It wasn’t Tally-Ho too, was it?

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

As they did to the democracy in Iran in the 1950’s.

And Chile in the '70s and in so many other places…

That’s not fair, I’m sure the split between men and women was much higher so it’s Gen X men that…■■■■.
Or what about race?
So actually it was Gen X white men that…okay, forget that.
If you looked at whether voters were raised rural or city then I think you’d find it…would be…

Okay, separate point.
Shut up!

There’s a direct link between U.S actions in Guatemala, Nicaragua and others in Latin America, to the current border “crisis.”

What’s purple, and do Teals count as greens?
Not outstanding news for the blue ties, there.

Other :joy:

Fwiw, I’m Gen X and I know a lot of people from my friend group who would have been considered progressive 20 years ago that voted conservative this election. They all spend way too much time on Facebook complaining.

I’m gen X and most of my friends are moving left, especially supporting candidates with climate change policies.

Thanks.

So basically people like @percebushby, @Bacchusfox, myself and others are young in mind and spirit and have more in common with Millenials.

So Ben, why are they friends ?

The only Liberal I speak with is my Sister, and I cannot imagine how any conservative voter could exist in our group of friends.

Not sure the army place was in Heidelberg West, perhaps it was Camp Pell in Royal Park where there were so called Nissan huts.
Was demolished in the late 1950’s by the Bolte Government.

Yes, was going to post the same.

Do it. You will love it. It’s amazing but also a huge culture shock. I’ve spent a bit of time in the NT last 12 months with work. I’d recommend everyone to visit.

I could vote conservative.

But the problem is that all their politicians are bottom feeding spivs with about half a brain cell between them.

Deadset Sussan Ley or Angus Taylor?

Or ex leaders passed out on the sidewalk drunk? And the media inc the state media(abc
) and commercial just apologise for him?

Engage in stupid culture wars with the far left.

Too many complete ■■■■■■■■. The good conservatives or small l libs are wet lettuce leaves who can’t stand up to them either

There was also one at Watsonia for the homeless, vacated by the Army after WW2.

Post cyclone Tracy rebuild in Darwin they did this. One company held a record for a house a day - 365 houses in 365 days.
Also these houses were built to strict cyclone regs - so there is a precedent.
Creates employment opportunities as well as providing housing.
Governments at any level shouldn’t be in the business of landlords, so tenants should be given the opportunity to purchase their home.
